We purchase a new CRM Built home in June 2022. We have a one year warranty on the home. We noticed that a portion of the home was not bricked and it is just exposed material. We contacted the builder to have it finished and was told since the brick didn't fit so it was left off purpose. We were then told that this is only cosmetic and since the inspector didn't notice it then it wasn't their problem. They offered to put a piece of wood there instead of actually fixing it properly. Wood would not match our brick home. The room that is by this area is having major bug issues, mainly mites and spiders. We just want to brick finished and exterminator for the bugs because of this. We also had issues with plumbing and had to spend $430 to have the sewer flushed because gravel was still in the lines that had not been cleaned out during the build. We would like to reinbursed for this. We did call CRM first and they sent a plumber, but he told us that he didn't have the right equiptment and there was nothing he could do.Business response

The owners of the property had an inspection period for corrections and craftsmanship. This did not make the list. If you would like, we can provide you a copy of the real estate contract. We reminded them of the contractual obligation and provided a couple options above and beyond the contract requirements. We explained this happens from time to time and we have two different fixes. We take cement board and cut to fit and paint the color of the window or we break metal and create a "z-Flashing" of sorts and install that, it is also the color of the window. They did NOT like these options and demanded we install brick. We have several pictures that we can provide showing other homes in our market using this method on ALL brick houses. Please keep in mind there is only 3" or so above the window. Our brick installer typically does NOT install angle iron and brick in those small areas. This is a common practice for CRM Built, LLC.
They are claiming that they have an insect issue from this brick NOT being installed. However, the windows are sealed with Flashing tape. Our standard warranty does not cover spraying for inspects etc. If they do have a insect problem, they need to spray. They did NOT like this response. But it is standard practice. We do not control how people care for there houses.
There plumbing issue was a stopped up sewer pipe that appeared to be discharging wipes from there clean out. Our warranty clearly does not cover wipes being flushed down the toilets into the sewer. The home owners said they do not use wipes. We can provide pictures if you would like. We sent our plumber (*** **** ******* ********) to the job-site and they used a camera and went down the sewer line and found a block PAST the clean out and the block landed in the middle of the road. We are ONLY responsible up to the clean out. So our Plumber gave the home owner the number to a another plumbing company that has a high power laser system to remove such blocks. We informed the home owner that this issue falls outside the home warranty. We gave them the number of the developer and also explained to them that they could reach out to City Utilities to seek reimbursement. They did not like that response.
As we were doing our research into this plumbing issue, they went ahead with a formal complaint with BBB. We had not fully gotten to the bottom of the sewer blocking issue. FYI.
The response to these issues was as per real estate contract and or our builder warranty. Please advise if you would like contacts forwarded to you.
