I purchased a car from this company on 3/2/2022. I spent $30,000 on the car. Not long after the purchase, one thing after another started to go wrong with the car. There was oil leaking, catalytic converters were bad, the spoiler was attached with wood screws and damaged the underside of the car. They also promised me that they would fix the sun roof which they never did. It's still not repaired. I didn't drive the car that much since I work from home. When I have spoken to them they have been quite rude and intimidating. They did their own inspection and it passed and it probably shouldn't have. Because they wouldn't take ownership of the things that were wrong with the car, I paid for repairs out of my my pocket, for a total of approximately $9400.00.Business response

I first want to say I am sorry *** ***** is upset and having issues, however those unfortunately are out of the scope and responsibility of my transaction with him. ** ***** did purchase a 2011 Cadillac CTSV from us on 03/03/2022 and he had been in numerous times the 2 weeks before purchase to look at it, drive it, examine it etc. A statement that needs to be made here and no disrespect meant by it, but it is relevant is that ** ***** suffers from some type of anxiety or stress disorder, I don't want to quote it because I don't remember what he told us before he purchased the car, but it is relevant because we saw very sudden mood swings and anxiety from him pre purchase, and we were very cognitive to not "sell" him a car, we let him decide, we made absolutely no sales calls to him and at no time did we pressure him to buy, it was all his choice. He even came in sat down to purchase, then left and we didn't hear from him for a few days, only to all of a sudden he came back and purchase it. This is all not typical behavior in a car purchase. When he purchased the car we asked him if he wanted a warranty and he said "my dads a mechanic, I'm good" So we left it at that. The car had zero leaks and zero codes and all 4 catalytic convertors were functioning fine. I have attached pre purchase inspection with this information on here from Firestone, only item that needed addressed was 3 Tire Pressure Monitoring System sensors were bad and I paid to replace them. Attached also. He drove it multiple times, had his mechanic father check it out, he was good and this car of coarse was purchased "as is" like the law requires in Missouri if you are out of Factory warranty. As Is signed form attached. The clip to the sunshade was broken and it caused the shade to slip behind the sunroof, we pulled it out and clipped it again, that didn't hold so I purchased him a new Sunshade, receipt attached, I still have the sunshade, pic attached, as he never came and picked it up! It is still here and he is welcome to mail me a letter and tell me where to leave it so he can have it, as we don't want him on the property anymore, I am not medically trained to be able to properly handle his mood swings so I don't want him on the property. The front lower spoiler does have a few screws in it as this is a very low sports sedan and they commonly hit the curb. There is nothing wrong with this and this is very common on low front spoiler cars. They are originally just held by plastic clips so the screws are stronger. He was well aware of this before he purchased it and was fine at the time. A few days after buying the car he came back in in a frantic mood about the screws in the bumper and the sunroof had slipped back again. i calmed him down and ordered him a brand new sunshade and told him there is nothing that can be done for the screws and there is noting wrong with the bumper and asked why he was so worried about it and he said his brain just gets fixated sometimes. It was a very odd occurrence. The sunshade came in on 3-22-2022 I believe, we left a message for him to come get it and never have seen him or heard from him since.
On 10-18-2022 7.5 months since selling him the car, we have heard nothing he calls very frantic, we ask him to calm down and what's the problem. We were very nice to him and he started unloading that it needed $9200 worth of gaskets from an oil leak, I said what seals and gaskets because there's only a few places to leak on this engine and at most it may cost $1000. I said you can buy a brand new engine from GM and have it installed at that price and he got very loud told me I had to listen to him and I was going to pay for it and he had "all" the evidence. I conveyed to him with evidence it sounded like at this point he needed an attorney then. He responded that I'm trying to intimidate him...I wasn't he was the one that was way out of control. Then he said he called an attorney and he told him he had no case. Then I said all 4 of your Catalytic Convertors are bad? I said that's nearly impossible as they are all independent, then he lost it and said I'm paying him $9200 and I just ended the conversation.
To sum it up, i will not be providing my ***** any compensation as I did nothing wrong. I will also no longer be able to provide him advice or assistance as his medical condition makes it too difficult to properly address any problems he may have and help him try to find a solution. My guess is he took the car to the dealer, they tried to sell him an engine and exhaust system and he went into sensory overload. ** ***** would do good to have a friend take his car to an independent mechanic who will fix the oil leak if it even has one and fine out if it has 1 bad convertor and fix it for very little cost to him.....but that's just my assumption.Customer response

Complaint: ********
I am rejecting thisI reject this offer on the fact that there’s very little truth in it.
obviously I will have to pursue it a different path.
When I called him I had the interest of trying to see if I could purchase a vehicle from them and try this one back but they would not even let me speak on the phone.. obviously I knew I would have to carry that over from this car I was not looking for a miracle just someone to speak to me and work with me and they had no intentions of it. As you can see he hasn’t heard anything from me because I’ve been pursuing fixing the vehicle myself and to the point that the repair cost. I just don’t think you should scream at your customers and talk over them
I have no interest in working further with them.
Sincerely,
******** *****
