  On 09/29/22 I signed a contract and gave a 20% deposit of $7,534.40 to have a 35x12’5 covered porch added to my home. On 12/07/22 they poured the concrete slab and driveway extension. That day the sales agent asked for a 35% deposit of $14,235.20. I paid them with a check that day. I asked when the next phase of construction would begin and I was told after the holidays on 01/09/23 On 01/09/23 no one showed up to do work. I called the office and was told the workers were sick and it would be 01/16/2023. On 01/16/2023 no show! I called the office and was told the work crew would be at my house tomorrow 01/17/23. On 01/17/2023, workers didn’t show up… I went to the business and met with the owner of the Custom Construction Services, ***** *******, He said because of his personal issues he was dissolving the company and he COULD NOT finish work on my project NOR could he refund money owed to me ($11,219). I asked when he could refund my money and he said he didn’t know, he needed time to see if he could come up with money. I offered him 14 days ending on 02/03/2023. I contacted him on 01/23/2023, just to check in on any progress of him returning my money. ***** ******* promised again to repay the money owed to me but still had no money. On 02/03/2023, called P. *******, He was vague and I asked him if he could repay my $11,219 and he said he could not. He said he was not finishing the work and could not return my money. He offered no resolution and no timeline on repayment. ***** ******* will not return any of my phone calls or text messages. Attached is the contract, cashed deposit checks. I want my money ($11,219) and I want a written correspondence stating this contract is breached by ***** ******* and I’m free to move on to find another contractor. What ***** ******* did is criminal because he intentionally took my deposit check with no intention of using the money for my project. He knew he was closing his business when he took my money.
