My husband and I, ***** and ****** *****, were residents of Somerset Place from 05/2019 until 08/2022. We are seeking to get resolution to an account balance of $ 2,377.95 that currently shows as a collection on our credit report. We made a request to renew our lease with the property 05/02/2022. The online account with the property displayed lease start date of 05/11/2022. Payments were made as normal for the month of 06/22 and 07/22. The receipts to support these payments are attached. When my husband made the 07/22 payment, we noticed additional fees for and outstanding balance that included month to month fees, as well as late fees. We attempted to discuss the matter with the leasing manager, ********** ******, at that time to no avail. The management had recently changed, and we believed the office staff was getting files updated since the online account showed lease start date of 05/11/22. It was at that point we decided to begin the process to relocate and notified the office of intent to vacate premises. At that time, the leasing manager and office staff were not cooperative in providing our rental history to our current landlord. We had to provide our bank statements to show proof of rental history instead. The next communication we received was a 3 day notice to pay rent of quit and an eviction notice dated 08/10/22 with more charges. It was not until 08/22/22 a lease renewal notice was placed on our door asking us to select an option to renew lease by 08/23/22. We have attempted to dispute this account previously and received a financial statement from Transworld Systems as of 08/23/23.Initial Complaint

My husband and I have been residents of Somerset Place Apartments since May 2019. During this time we have remained residents during the change of ownership three (3) times. Needless to say, there have been multiple changes in office staff and well aware records needed to reviewed and updated. Our current complaint is a $ 1,286.70 balance on our account. We made a request 30 days prior to our previous lease ending to renew for another year. The resident portal was checked periodically with no update of information stating that our lease would not be renewed. We have continued to pay the rent plus the increased amount based on what we saw on the resident portal prior to the lease end date. The company changed ownership in June 2022 making the resident portal unavailable again, so we paid rent in office with a money order and have a receipt showing no balance due. Meanwhile, my husband made rent payment in office with a money order for July and the balance stated we owed the amount listed above for a $ 400.00 month to month fee. We have not been notified of any reason not to renew lease which was requested 30 days prior to previous lease ending or a $ 400.00 month to month fee.
