The movers showed up 2 hours late to start the day off. The employee sent the contract to sign less than a day before the move was supposed to start for us to review. We both have regular jobs, so were not able to review the contract until late the evening before. The contract stated pretty normal terms (pay be credit card, cash, debit card, etc) and the total would be billed after the move was complete. 30 minutes prior to the agreed upon move time, the company sent me a Cash App request. I messaged the company once I finally saw the request and heard nothing back for about 30 minutes. I proceeded to call the company, and they told me that this was the only form of payment that they would accept. After arguing the legal contract with them, I agreed to download the app and pay cash. Seems like they are avoiding having to pay certain taxes by doing this. 2 hours into the slow move, the company sends me another Cash App request to pay for another hour of work...keep in mind that the money I paid up front covered 3 hours of work. I called the owner again and argued with him about this policy. I explained that we had very few items during this move and that his crew would be finished in much less time. I went ahead and paid the money since the movers would not continue working without me paying the Cash App, even though I still had another full hour paid for. The move eventually was completed in less than the extra hour, as I had told the company, and I was refunded late that evening. Overall, the move was terrible, even though the final price was less than other companies that I had quoted. The lack of communication, tardiness, and blatant disregard for the legal contract will ensure that I will never use this company again. Judging by the previous 18 1 star reviews, I should have known that this company would be terrible to deal with.Spyder Moving Services, LLC Response

Thanks for the review. We were punctual and as responsive to you as possible from start to finish, responding to all your requests. The form of payment was discussed with you prior to the move and yes you had agreed and had no problem with it until now few days after your move. You paid what you wanted to pay and the movers did not stop working and completed your move in full, efficiently, without any damages, and in timely manner. You did not pay a penny more than what you wanted to pay for the services. The movers did an absolutely fantastic job for you once again, as your previous move. We accommodated multiple of your requests before, during and after the job to make sure you were happy with everything, without any doubts. We are super sad to learn now that you were not actually satisfied. We did our best for you all the way and are very disappointing that you did not appreciate all our work and further effort we have put into your move to go as smooth as possible. I see that a few months later, this company is trying to defend the claim. Since they clearly don't remember how any of this transaction occurred, I would be more than happy to provide ALL of the text message communication between myself and the company proving that they did not communicate the form of payment the day before (as they said), that they were several hours late, and that they knew during the time of the service that I was not happy with them. The company should not be allowed to follow up to my original review with false claims.Review from Irene S

7-7-22 Don't do it! Run to another moving service as fast as you can! The price may seem cheap but there are hidden costs that they don't disclose to you up front. And then they have your stuff and you have no recourse. The original quote was $6,700.00, then they pick up your stuff, confirm the delivery with the drivers for the next day and then they don't show up at the scheduled time. I made all the arrangements as I was on a tight timeline and they didn’t show up. I received an emailed invoice from Spyder Moving Services first thing on the day of the delivery saying my belongings were “supposed” to arrive but now there is an additional $3,000.00 fuel fee and $248.00 packing charge. Oh, and did I tell you that the money needs to be sent as a wire transfer. The gentleman at the Hattiesburg office did not share any information about the additional charges or that the shipping payment needed to be a wire transfer. Then when I received the information about the wire transfer, he gave the incorrect routing number, thus delaying the money transfer until after the 4th of July weekend. But the story doesn't end there. Then the drivers arrive and refuse to unpack the truck because now we owe a holding charge of $4,100 because they had to keep my belongings on the truck over the holiday weekend. Again, their fault for not giving the corredct information. They literally held my belongings as hostage. Once I wired the last payment, they unloaded my stuff on the condo dock. They had no dolly to move any of the large items. I had to go out and buy one. The boxes were a mess. My leather sofa ripped an stained with oil. My computer monitor smashed. I can't wait to open the rest of the boxes. I left my belongings in their care in hopes of an easy move. This has been a nightmare! I am ill. I asked for paperwork so that I can submit it for reimbursement and they have provided nothing. Very sneaky, very devious! This business should be shut down a.s.a.p!Review from Austin B

Please take my advice. Use a different moving company. The hourly rate was very competitive ($170/hr) so I chose this moving company. I made a serious mistake. It took them 8 hours to move a 1 person residence (just myself) 5 minutes down the road. My nightmare started when I noticed a mysterious withdrawal in my checking account a few days after the move. One of the movers had taken my checkbook out of my bedside hutch and fraudulently written a check. I spent endless hours the week following closing bank accounts, moving direct deposits and automatic payments, and getting new debit cards. I entrusted this moving company to enter my home and safely move me, and they sent this criminal to my home that stole money from my checking account. I am still in the process of getting these accounts and payments corrected 3 weeks later. I promise you that other moving companies may be $10-$20 more an hour, but it will be worth it to avoid what I have gone through. Please learn from my mistake and chose someone else.Review from Maxine N

Please do not do business with this company. WARNING!!! It is a total ripoff!!! Emailed contract and did not have an accurate breakdown of hours of which I was paying for….. (8 hours) minimum. However used 2 of the hours for travel to and from Oxford which was not stated on contract. Withdrew payment from credit card before the job was started and completed. Later, sent an invoice for additional money , not showing what the additional money was for … a Total Rip Off!!! If your credit card is on file , RED FLAG !! The owner **** takes money that was not authorized! Please monitor your account! This company is a total SCAM!!! I beg you ! Stay away! He’s being reported to BBB !!! Stay away!Review from Linda K.

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY. ON MAY 6, 2022 I HIRED THEM TO PICKUP FURNITURE AND STORE IT. THEY GIVE YOU THE RUN AROUND ASKING FOR MORE MONEY WHILE HOLDING YOUR FURNITURE HOSTAGE. THEY ARE HORRIBLE...THROUGH ALL OF MY FURNITURE OUT LIKE TRASH BUT BEFORE THAT THE WORKERS ARE ALLOW TO GET WHATEVER THEY WANT. 60% OF MY FURNITURE MISSING....THIS COMPANY IS A RIP OFF....
