contracted with this business 12/20/2021 to do some concrete driveway work the following spring starting in early march 2022. Contractor required 40% of total cost of job as downpayment. The total down payment was $2495 of a job to cost a total of $5940 dollars.Initial payment of 40% sent to Everts to start work in early March 2022.The work was not done then as agreed upon. When questioned about this, his explanation was the amount of rain at that time. Rescheduled to April 2022. The work was not done then either and the explanation was he had his concrete finisher quit and return to *********. The work was rescheduled for *** and then June of 2022. The contractor said if the work was not done by June 15 or 16 2022 he would refund the deposit. June came and went, he was contacted and the deposit was asked to be returned. He said he would mail it out. Never came. Recontacted about the fact there was no check, and he asked for some patience and to please give him to July 8, 2022 to return the deposit in full. July 8th came and went and no check appeared. He call me on July 9th ******************************************************* the mail. We were on vacation and did not return until July 16th. When we received our held mail there was no check in the held mail.On that monday I called him July 18th 2022 and he said the check was mailed from ********* ******* on friday July 15th 2022. As of July 20th no check has arrived.This person has promised work that was not done as contracted. He has promised return of deposit $2495 which has not happened either. Our desired resolution is the return of our deposit in full, promptly. Copy of contract, copy of deposit check, copy of e-mails available for review. Willing to mail to BBB cannot upload since not in computer data base.
