Stopped into this dealership that has a truck I was interested in. Took it for a test drive then when the salesman was getting the paperwork ready. There appraiser guy went out to look at my truck and comes back in and tells me he broke my sunroof on my vehicle i was looking to trade in. So I ask if they're going to pay for it and he says no. I ask him what happens if it rains/snows tonight he tells me to park it inside I tell I don't have anywhere to park inside unless there going to let me park it on there showroom floor. Then tells me to put a tarp on it..Business response

Tell us why here...First off,the appraiser did not come in and say he broke the sunroof, he said he opened the sunroof to test it and now it wouldnt close and asked if there was a trick to closing it. Testing the operation of the components of a vehicle is very common when appraising the vehicle. Nothing he did caused the sunroof to break. He didnt pound or beat on it, he didnt force it open, he simply pushed the button to open it and pushed the button to close it,then came and asked if there was a trick to it. When he asked if there was a trick to it the customer immediately demanded the dealership pay for to repair it. The sales manager did tell the ************* that we werent paying for it because we didnt cause the damage. The sales manager was trying to provide solutions to the problem, but unfortunately there werent a lot of options available due to the time of day you were here. All the technicians were gone for the day and there wasnt anyone here to look at to see if there was a way to get it closed for the evening. That being said, if the sunroof is still open we would be happy to have someone look at it today to see if it there is a relatively easy way to get it to the closed position. What typically happens on those sunroofs is the guides get brittle and break and sometimes a piece from those guides will jam the roof and not allow it to slide. Im not sure that is what the issue is but we may be able to get it to the closed position for *************. The customer has demanded we compensate him financially so he can take it to a repair shop of his choosing. That is not an option. We are prepared to help get it to the closed position if it is still open if it can be done relatively easily. If disassembly of the components is required we are not willing to pay for additional labor for disassembly. Any labor assistance provided to the customer is only available at the dealership.
