Have had a service contract for years and cant get service in a reasonable time or anyone interested enough to try and help. The service contracts and their customer service are poor.Review from Lisa G

Horrible tech service. One tech called to say he was on his way, then 20 min later a different tech called to say he was on his way. This delayed the first service arrival time another 30min. Obviously the second tech had more seniority, called the first one to trade jobs because he didnt want to drive to ********** from what I was told. I guess the customer has nothing better to do than to wait on them to figure it out.Review from Carolyn E

Piedmont Natural Gas has a monopoly in ********* Tn due to the only gas company. Will NOT help to resolve issues that you call to get corrected, but refuses your usual mode of payment because they will not return calls, trace history of payments, or assist with questions/answers to problems. I have never been so insulted by a company nor have a history of not paying my bills on time. Worst customer service!!Review from Gloria S

Absolutely ridiculous. Authorized user **. We've asked for 4 years to add wife to account so she can discuss bills, etc. They screwed up on billing, sent us 2 bills, we have waited a week to pay the usual one due on the 3rd of month. Wife called last week, they talked with her in full for an hr to submit an investigation into it. Today, didn't hear anything, she called again and the ** began. They can't talk to her because she's not an authorized user. YES SHE IS, WE'VE ASKED EVERY TIME SHE CALLS AND HUSBAND TELLS THEM TO ADD HER, BUT CLEARLY THEY DON'T. A system should be in place if wife calls and provides them all the information, SSN, address, DOB, Account #, the color of husbands eyes... they should talk to her. WHY would a wife call, for that matter, why would anyone call to pay another persons bill? Does that make sense? Husband was not home so he could ask to ADD WIFE FOR THE UMPTEENTH time. Absolutely ridiculous in this day and age of modern technology, passwords, verification codes.. that if the wife has all that, Piedmont Gas has the intellect to realize, it's the same household that wants to pay a bill. Now husband has to call in, waste more time, and add wife AGAIN, so the next time wife calls, they'll ask for the same ** and again, WHY would a stranger call to pay a bill?PIEDMONT NATURAL GAS, figure out another way to either KEEP WIFE ON AS AUTHORIZED USER OR ADD A DIFFERENT TYPE OF SECURITY because what you have isn't working. AGAIN, WIFE has been added A MILLION TIMES IN FOUR YEARS AS AN AUTHORIZED USER. Wife spoke with someone last week and this never came up. Get it together. If we had another gas company, this would have ended our services with you.Review from sandra k

i am so angry with this utility. I have been a customer since 1970 and always paid promptly. In March there was a problem with my mail delivery and I did not get my bill until it was actually a few days past due. I immediately called customer service to pay by phone. I had incurred a late charge of #**.55, I told the rep--Violet-- to pay the amount of the past due bill and asked for the late fee to be waived since it was the first ever. She assured me it could be done. Instead of posting my payment in the amount of the 1 month overdue bill, she pasted to my credit card the amount of the 1 month bill, she posted that bill, the next month AND the late charge, which I did not know until I looked at my band credit card charges and clarified with Piedmont what those charges were. I have called three tines about getting the late fee credited back. I am now told that because it was already paid it can't be credited back/ Yes, it was paid without my knowledge or approval and I am FURIOUS with Piedmont. I feel like I have been royally screwed and if I had a choice, I would change providers!!.Review from Teresa T

1 star. Why? I have a water-heater service plan on my bill each month. Just a little over 9$ each month just in case there's an emergency they said, it's a small amount for "peace of mind", We'll be there when you need us, they say. Saturday to Tuesday without hot water is utter nonsense. We pay for the service to get the emergency taken care of. I understand there are "only a few" service techs to do the entire area and I also know that a "leaking gas' ' is more important, I'm not an entitled thinker that expects "I BE FIRST". 4 days to get this situation taken care of is totally unacceptable. I called on Saturday, the person that put in my ticket put it in wrong, big surprise, So I call again 2 days later, just checking to see the progress, oops, found out it was entered wrong, I explained my situation AGAIN, I get a call and they come out. Not to fix the problem, but to take pictures! Really? It would have been easy to just come and bring a new water heater and put it in. Heck, Just drop it off and we'll put it in, but NOOO. Pictures, measurements, assessment, Yep, the heater is broken, but the guys who fix it don't work on the weekend or holidays. I'm sorry, I should have waited until you were open for my WH to break. I'm very dissatisfied with this process, and the only thing the Picture taker could tell me was that there are only 3 of them doing the assessments, and the ones that actually do the replacement are only available during normal business hours. Really? Im surprised that a company as big as Piedmont Gas cant afford to put on enough bodies to service their customers during hard times. People need better services and need to be equipped to do the job when they come to the customer. My Picture taker came, took pictures and then sat in his truck for another ***************************************************** the people that you hire. Train them and make them responsible for doing the job, not taking pictures so someone else can actually do it.Review from Lu G

This is the worst utility company I've used!! When I moved in the new house, they let me finished the identification verification form from notary then I can activate my service. I did it and submit the form through email. But waiting 2 days no one response and my gas was still inactive. I moved into the new house, no gas, I cannot cook and take the shower. I called the customers service and they said they never received my form???? It's ridiculous. I submitted again and waited for another day, still no one response. I call the customers service again and talked about my situation, the agent unexpectedly hang up my phone???I never meet such a rude company before. I've moved in my new house almost a week and still no gas. I cannot accept it. If I have choice of course I'll not choose this gas company!!!Review from JEANETTE F

Since 2022 Piedmont Gas have been charging me for 2 water heater plans (Essential ******************** Plan-$13.93); I did sign up for the Premium Plan. I have contacted Piedmont Gas 3 times in reference to this issue and on my last contact in Dec 2023; I asked for someone to please contact me to discuss the over charge and I wish to be repaid instead of a credit since I didn't credit them; I had to pay them. I would also like to know how much I will be paid (charges + state sales taxes) for the overcharge which they constantly made on my account. When I asked to be transferred to the department that would determine the amount due to me the lady said that it's not really a department, they just call it the back office. So then I asked if she could have someone from the back office contact me and she said no; they don't call they just do the credits to the account and we have to accept what they say. I asked how to contact the corporate office and she said she don't know how to contact the corporate office. I would like to be paid for the overcharge amounts. We are a ret military family and can't afford to be overcharged from 2022 till 2024. And that number 70*-36*-31** is not a working number.Review from Rebecca S

Been paying my bill through my bank's bill pay for years. Out of nowhere, they came up saying I was three months late. I contacted the bank and they could confirm that the two oldest were paid and cleared to Piedmont. The third was just paid but I paid it again over the phone to make sure they got it. Now, they say that I still owe the two other payments (even though the bank gave them reference numbers proving the got them). I was so fed up that I told them that they should have just shut it off and the worst customer service rep ever told me that they couldn't shut off service to anyone in TN due to tornados. I have not been affected by a tornado lately but that is a random fact you probably don't want just anyone to know. I pay my bills on time and in full and Piedmont is making that difficult.Review from Verina K

Gas bill jump after doing a review on company site and bill was the highest since I have had gas service. Understand we've had some cold weather in ** but to jump the way it did was ridiculous especially if I keep it set at 68
