We had contacted Top Notch ************************************ through Thumbtack about a project for our house. We made 2 payments, one in November of 2022 for ordering custom windows/doors and the other in February of 2023 for costs of framing. The job was to take 4-6 weeks to complete. It is almost a year now and this job has been sitting incomplete and exposed to the elements. We just want this job done and we have had a terrible time getting in touch with anyone at Top Notch via email, text, phone and website.Initial Complaint

I contacted Top Notch construction in April 2022 to build a glass atrium and finish my garage. The quotes totaled just over $30K. I gave a deposit of $11,682 and received a timeline of 4-6 weeks. Since then I have been getting nothing but delays and the run around from ****** *****. He has missed over 90% of his commitments to me and I believe he has abandoned my job at this time. At one point I contacted Paypal and filed disputes. I received a refund of $3,150. I should have escalated all the claims and taken 100% of my money at that point. I foolishly listened to ****** and he has taken advantage of my trust and kind nature. Due to all the delays, the original jobs were cancelled and replaced with an alternative sunroom, which was never quoted. ****** didn't even start the sunroom until September 6th. It was also a single man doing the job. The second day he came he had an emergency and left without completing any work. Then came a series of lies and rudeness and disrespect that I should not have to tolerate. After I foolishly gave ****** another $3K and $3150 after he lied to me about the cost, he told me "he didn't have time for this" as a response to my next inquiry about my project. On the following day, he lied and said the framer had an emergency and would not return. The emergency was obviously planned because they took all their tools the previous day. He proceeded to abandon my job for the remainder of the week and the entire following week. He also left his trailer parked in front of my house; to which I received complaints and advised ******. He never even acknowledged it. I am sick and tired of ****** and this company. I don't deserve to be treated this way. ****** has refused to itemize the new job and has now abandoned it. They have only completed ~$5-7K of framing work over ~7 business days. 7 days of work in 6 months. He also did not install any footers. So I now need a new contractor to repair/finish. I demand itemization and a refund.Customer response
