In March 2017, I requested hosting with AIT for 1 year by phone because the site had no option to do so. I followed up with the attached email specifying what we discussed, 1 year only. Despite this, I was charged again in March 2018. I called and reiterated it was supposed to be 1 year only and I wanted it cancelled and I was assured that it was. In September of 2020 I purchased hosting with Squarespace, yet I continued to be charged by AIT each year unbeknownst to me because I was not sent an invoice. I have several domain names through AIT as well, so when I saw the charge, I thought it was for those. My card expired in 2023 and I received a past due notice from AIT. I responded by email that I did not use the service and received another past due notice from ***** in engineering. I responded asking for an explanation and received an address not found email. (see attached)I then called and spoke to ******* who assured me the service would be cancelled and he would talk to his supervisor and return my call. He did not call back and I received no notice that it was cancelled. I continued receiving threatening emails. I called again and ******* put me through to his supervisor ***. He said he would call me back. He did not. I received a ticket closed email (see attached) and thought the matter was settled. Then received an email stating that my account had been turned over to a collection agency. There is no way to cancel a service on the website and though I have called and cancelled multiple times they have continued to charge me. I have been charged $232.18 for a service I do not use. And now because they can no longer charge my expired card, they are harassing me and demanding that I pay a bill I do not owe. I would like a refund of the $232.18 they erroneously charged me and at the very least, a written notice that this service has been cancelled, and it has been removed from collections.

I haven't hosted a single file with them in over a year, and do not plan to return to the project in question any time soon. I requested a cancellation of my services on 4/24. All I got back was, "We will get back to you shortly." I hear nothing until today, 5/22, telling me that they'd invoiced me earlier this month and that I owe for **** How does this make sense?

My issue with this company is that I paid $1200 for a website they created the website not to mention that it was just a word press site and we had to go over the design three different times until I got a decent product. Once it was completed and the last payment was made they then started the calls and e-mails offering hosting and design services to fix the site whenever it needed to be updated. I declined the services because I can get hosting for $7 a year on multiple hosting sites, once I declined then they started offering other services for the same price $99 a month. When I started asking questions about why I didn't have control of my website all contact ceased until today I get an email saying that I owed $198 for services that I haven't had nor utilized not to mention that my site has not been online for the last 6-7 months. When asked about it they said they would gladly put it up once payment is made but they still relinquished to turn over control of the $1200 Wordpress website. I need my money back or my website so that I can actually get some kind of roi on what I spent.

I am a web developer and have around 35 customers that I maintain sites on AITs servers. On 4/01/22 I had a 3 year hosting account (ljohnsonnsb.com),costing $98.64,that expired and I assumed they would just not renew it. I did not want to renew that account but I had other accounts that were ongoing. Around 4/8 I got an email demanding money to renew that account so I contacted them via their chat system and was told to send an email to customer support, which I did that day. In the email I stated that the account was closing and to only close that one. The next email I got was on 5/16 from Lisa B***** VP Finance, stating that I now owe $123.64 plus $200 collection fee and that if I didn't pay within 10 days they would send it to a collection agency. I replied questioning what the $123 was for and got no email response. On 5/19 I got an email saying that "Your account has been forwarded to the following collections agency..." I then tried calling AIT and got an answering machine on (5/19) and noticed that all of my active accounts were closed! I then communicated with 'Linda M' via the chat system and I explained my problem. I did not get a resolution. The last response I received from Linda M. on chat was "please contact the collections agency, we are not able to assist you in regards to this issue any further." AIT claims that I should have notified them 5 days prior to the end of my contract via their 'ticket' system. Their online policy is worded to assume I am requesting a refund. Checking the internet Wayback machine (https://web.archive.org) when the account was opened these conditions did not exist. I do not believe I owe them any money since the website was moved off their servers prior to 4/01, their cancellation terms are vague and were different when the account was opened (4/13/16). I have documentation validating the above.

Consumer Response /* (450, 6, 2022/05/24) */ This issue has been resolved. AIT responded in good time and with a satisfactory result.
