I was selected to participate in a ***** ***** study and the sign up time was 4:45pm est I've waited in the waiting room until 5:30-5:45PM. Everyone was told the ***** ***** Study would only take an hour to an hour and a half from 4:45-6:15PM latest. I participated in this study until almost 8:00 PM est. I participated until the end and completed. I was waiting on my incentive pay and was supposed to be paid 2-3 days after completion. 5 days later I asked about when I would receive my incentive pay and I was told 6 days after completion I would not be receiving my incentive because they couldn't see my face on my Webcam for ***** minutes thrn when my recruiter asked if I got into the study I texted her yes because I had to turn my phone off during the study. So I texted her and told her yes after they said i was allowed to turn my phone back on and after a bathroom break I texted her yes to tell her everything was good and I got in. I spent about 4 and half hours of my time participating and not getting paid. My time is very valuable and they pretty much got out of not paying me which isn't fair at all. They told me that they hope they can see me in in more of their studies if at this point I even get accepted because I feel a prejudice towards me. I'm highly distraught and unhappy with not receiving my payment for my hours that I contributed to this company and thr other company. I know I won't be getting paid but in the future if I do get accepted i hope this problem does not happen again that's if I ever get accepted for a study ever again which they make it seem like I will and I have completed screener for available studies but haven't heard anything yet since if someone commits to a study and participates the whole time they should gdt paid no matter what as long as they participate for the whole study. We have searched our database and we do not find anyone by this name as a participant in one of our studies. I believe this response is in error, or the participant is using an alias.Review from Sandy L

L&E Opinions ,I think that company the give a lot of questions to see if you qualify that take sometimes more then an hour and then after you use your own time they let you know the you are not qualify for it < I guess using peoples time they make there money.it is a Scam?*********************L&E Research, Inc. First of all, we appreciate this person's time and their opinions. Based on the parameters provided to us by our clients, we do indeed prescreen our participants to see if they qualify to participate in our research studies. Sometimes that prescreening process is done online, and sometimes it is done via a phone call. Sometimes that interaction can take a very short period of time, and sometimes it may take several minutes, depending on the length of the screener. However, this respondent has opted into our database and has indicated they are willing to go through this process. Our recruiters for these studies are wary of our respondents' time and sometimes will start with the questions that they have determined that a respondent typically falls out on, thus trying to be respectful of their time and ours. Should they qualify on those, the screener is completed. After reviewing the screener that applied here, it appears it was one of our lengthy screeners, however, this project was going to last 9 months and therefore required more questions than is typical. If this person is no longer interested, they are certainly able to opt out of our database in their member portal and will no longer receive calls like this. Should assistance be needed with that, they can reach out to our Database Member Liaison within our ******************************** It is definitely not a scam as we pay our members thousands of dollars every single day for their time and opinions.Review from Suzanne M

They routinely send out screeners…which are pages and pages of detailed info about the study. After filling all of that out, not once did I hear back. This happened so many times that I wrote to them, telling them that I think this is a scam. They’re essentially getting everything they need for the study for free and never compensating anyone. Looks like that’s true based on the other reviews. When I sent the email, I got a reply that only said: L&E Research has processed your request. So like I though…big old scam. Thank you for your feedback. We always make an effort to have a variety of respondents participate in our studies, especially those who have not had an opportunity to participate in the past. It appears that you only registered with us sometime around the first of this year and very soon after submitted this review with the BBB. Please know that it will take some effort on your part to see if you qualify for our studies, whether that be online or by phone as we always prescreen for qualification. Unfortunately, it sounds like for the surveys you submitted, we were not able to qualify you to participate. However, per your previous request, we have removed your profile from our database. I was called to be on a survey about voting. I did everything the recruiter told me to do on a **** call. I clocked in at the time of the meeting and got a message that said wait a moment we’ll be with you. I waited for over an hour and a half and nobody came to get me into the **** meeting. They did not want to compensate me for my time of waiting. I have complained to the recruiter and she said her project manager said that I clocked in one minute after I should have clocked in which is so untrue. They are trying to make an excuse or give a reason to not compensate me. Why did they leave a message that they will be with me in a moment when they never intended to pick up, or they forgot to pick up for me to be in the **** meeting. L&E Research truly appreciates your interest in participating in our studies. It appears that you were able to participate in another study with us just a few short months ago. For this particular study, our client's Zoom Meeting link indicated that you clicked the link to join the session after the meeting had started. This also means that you didn't arrive 15 minutes prior to the session as requested in your Confirmation email. The message you saw on your screen was an auto generated message that comes up when clicking the meeting link. The Confirmation email clearly stated that if you arrive late you will not be allowed into the session and you will not receive payment. This is out of respect for our clients and everyone else participating so that we can start and end on time whenever possible.Review from Shasta S

I signed up for survey research and got my first call to participate today. I was contacted by phone by ******* ******* (*******************) at 11:30 am. I verbally agreed to participate in a survey but had to cancel due to transportation conflicts. I let ******* know by 1pm that I could not make the appointment. I did not agree by email or in writing to attend. She continued to harass me by phone and text. She kept asking me if I could make it even though I already said I could not. Then she looked up my address and told me that I'm only "twenty-five minutes" away. This is completely inappropriate to be mapping a drive to a potential participants home. This is harassment and I regret giving this company my personal information. BEWARE!!L&E Research, Inc. Response

L&E appreciates this feedback. While our clients rely on us for 100% show rates on their studies, we understand that situations arise for our respondents. This participant did the right thing by letting the recruiter know they were unable to make the study. We have addressed the negative experience this participant experienced with our recruiter and appreciate the participant taking the time to let us know this happened. We always want our participants to have a positive experience with L&E.
