It is becoming apparent that the contract with Jenkins and Son Construction for our deck project is not going to be completed by the company. The contract was put in place 10/1/2021 with a $5,000 down payment that included an estimated start date in mid-December. On Sunday, November 7th I spoke with ** (partner) via phone call and confirmed that the team was planning to start our project as planned. In December I made multiple attempts to contact the company via phone, and text and it wasn’t until January 12, 2022, we were able to speak. On the evening of January 12, 2022, we spoke about a potential new start date in the spring of 2022 along with the importance of communicating any changes or challenges that would push the start of our project to a later period. On Thursday March 7th we spoke and agreed to terminate the contract and return the project deposit in two weeks. On the evening of April 12th ** Jenkins contacted me via phone and told me he planned to return my deposit. As of today July 7, 2022 I have not received my deposit.
