They are unreliable in delivering meds. They changed the delivery date of my vital injectable medicine and did not even let me know. When I called they were not concerned and put forward no effort to rectify their own mistake. And that was talking to a “supervisor”.Sav-Rx Prescription Services, Inc. Response

Sav-Rx administers self-funded prescription benefit management services on behalf of self-funded benefit sponsors, employers, and/or Unions. Sav-Rx manages the pharmacy benefit based on the specific rules of every individual Plan that we serve. Shipments for temperature sensitive specialty drugs such as this are carefully coordinated with the participant for a specific date, time, and location based up the patient’s specific availability. On 10/7/24, Sav-Rx Specialty Pharmacy team coordinated delivery for 10/11/24 with the participant. After review of our records related to the participants claim, Sav-Rx received a prescription for another temperature sensitive medication. When Sav-Rx Specialty Pharmacy team coordinated delivery of the second medication for 10/16/24, this had changed the first delivery date in error. Sav-Rx Specialty Pharmacy team is looking into what caused this error to avoid any future errors. Sav-Rx reached out to the customer as we would like to turn her experience into a positive experience. We are expediting delivery for her medication to be there tomorrow 10/15/24 and member is happy with that correction. Making sure our members receive their medications is of the upmost importance to us. Please accept our sincere apologies and we look forward to serving you.Review from Debbie M

Sav-Rx administers self-funded prescription benefit management services on behalf of self funded benefit sponsors, employers and/or Unions. Sav-Rx manages the pharmacy benefit based on the specific rules of every individual Plan that we serve. In this case, the Plan’s pharmacy benefit includes a number of clinical management programs such as the Specialty Drug Program, and the Medical to Pharmacy Program. Drug classes included in these programs are subject to clinical review to determine coverage based upon standard clinical practices. Your plan has chosen the Medical to Pharmacy Program to evaluate if certain infusions or provider administered medications could be processed through the Sav-Rx pharmacy benefit. Many oncology agents are on both the Specialty Drug Program and on the Medical to Pharmacy Program. Our clinical team is available to discuss treatment options with patients, physicians, and pharmacists to determine the best covered treatment for an individual patient. If a claim does not meet clinical criteria for coverage through the plan, Sav-Rx communicates to the patient and the physician with suggestions for treatment alternatives and an offer to open the review again if additional information should be considered to determine coverage. Sav-Rx genuinely values participant feedback regarding participant services, including the patient portal. We have incorporated the participant’s feedback about the Sav-Rx Patient Portal into our enhancement planning process.Review from Joseph E

Worst prescription manager ever. Constantly turning over staff. No one knows what they're doing. They can never get your coupon codes correct. Each supervisor is more idiotic than the previous. They are terrible. Completely understaffed and undertrained. Biologic immunosuppressants, use coupon codes to keep you from having outrageous co-pays. Sav RX, consistently screws up the code. They can't even record the correct fax number for my gastroenterologist no matter how many times I correct it. They are absolutely the worstSav-Rx Prescription Services, Inc. Response

Sav-Rx administers the pharmacy benefit on behalf of UFCW International Health Insurance Plan, a self-funded plan in accordance with the rules established by the plan. Sav-Rx strives for the highest level of customer service in every customer interaction, at all levels. We apologize for the experience received but emphasize that we have programs and processes in place to ensure our staff is properly trained and that we meet and exceed industry customer service standards. Sav-Rx will retrain and coach any agents involved on all areas of concern. If there are specific examples provided, we can ensure further coaching and mentoring to individuals is completed. The medication the participant receives is a high-cost medication. The member's copay is 20% of the cost of that medication, which is their union negotiated benefit. To assist the member with this cost share we utilize a manufacturer copay card to offset the member's cost. The manufacturer's coupon has maximum funding for a calendar year. Once that funding has been utilized, the coupon requires additional funds to be requested and loaded. Sav-Rx does not know the exact amount of funding loaded as it is not a set price, and the manufacturer does not divulge this information. Additional refills may require an outreach to the manufacturer to receive additional funding on the manufacturer coupon, if the member would prefer to not utilize the savings through the manufacturer coupon they do have this option but would be required to pay the higher cost share.Review from Justin D

Absolutely horrible, can't get diabetic medicine that my medical professional says I need. They are not family friendly and only seem to care about money. They don't deny my payments to them just the medication that I need. How professional, they are worse than tobacco companies because at least you're getting something be it satisfaction or whatever floats your boat while killing you. They are trying to play God when it comes to your medicine, because Lord knows they know more than any doctor or medical professional. They give you the same generic response that they read off a screen on why they are denying you. They do it so often that their is a template it seems. They gave no empathy and do not care about their customers so long as they get paid. They are far the worst prescription company I've ever dealt with in the nearly 30 years of having to pay for medical insurance. It you have an option please avoid Sav-Rx at all cost. You owe it to your loved ones and you don't need all the added stress to your health that they will inevitably cause you.Sav-Rx Prescription Services, Inc. Response

Sav-Rx administers pharmacy benefit services and clinical management programs to companies and Unions which offer pharmacy benefits to employees and Union members on a self-funded basis. With an emphasis on customer service, we take reviews such as this very seriously. Sav-Rx manages the pharmacy benefit based on the specific rules of every individual Plan that we serve. In this case, the Plan’s pharmacy benefit includes several clinical management programs such as prior authorization program and step therapy. Drug classes included in these programs are subject to clinical review to determine coverage based upon standard clinical practices. In these programs, consideration of first line treatments is required prior to approval of higher cost, more invasive treatment options unless first line options have been tried or are clinically not appropriate for an individual. Our clinical team is available to discuss treatment options with patients, physicians and pharmacists to determine the best covered treatment for an individual patient. If a claim does not meet clinical criteria for coverage through the plan, Sav-Rx communicates to the patient and the physician with suggestions for treatment alternatives and an offer to open the review again if additional information should be considered to determine coverage. Sav-Rx reached a denial determination according to clinical practices and the information provided by the patient’s physician. Zero stars! Will not cover diabetes medication, and customer service says the medication my Dr ordered is excluded from the plan. My Crohn's medication is supposed to stay cold during shipment and they did NOT overnight it so it arrived warm and ruined. Twice. $18000 dollar vial!Sav-Rx Prescription Services, Inc. Response

Shipments for temperature sensitive specialty drugs such as this are carefully coordinated with the participant for a specific date, time and location based upon the patient’s specific availability. The Sav-Rx Specialty Pharmacy team coordinated delivery for 5/10/24 with the participant. After review of our records related to the participants claim, UPS notated a Mechanical Failure which caused delayed of delivery by one business day. When the participant notified Sav-Rx that the medication was warm, Sav-RX coordinated with the participant and the manufacturer to provide a replacement of the medication to the participant. Sav-Rx reached out to the customer to verify the receipt of a second shipment of ruined medication as our records did not reflect this. The participant stated on 7/22/24 that she received a text message that her medication had shipped, and she was concerned that her medication was going to be delivered warm again. This was a proactive text message. We have confirmed the text message was not for her temperature sensitive medication. The medication is to be delivered as scheduled on 7/26/24. There was not a second delivery of warm and ruined medication. We have apologized for the misinformation provided regarding diabetes medication not covered by insurance. The medication would require a Prior Authorization to determine coverage. The Prior Authorization process has been initiated and we have provided the steps for this process to the participant. The participant was given a direct contact at SavRx for any questions or concerns in the future.Review from Timothy G

I am giving this company no stars. They are horrible. One out of every 3 times I call to refill my prescription they mess it up. Usually they tell me the prescription card didn't go through. If I don't have them run it while I am on the phone with them they will just decline the order and never even call to let me know. Because of this my insurance dates are all messed up and now I can't even take my medication when I am supposed to. This company has the worst customer service I have ever encountered. Do not use them if at all possible!Sav-Rx Prescription Services, Inc. Response

I don't understand how Save RX can even deny a medication that a doctor deems necessarily. I just spoke to a "doctor of pharmacy" from Save RX who was unqualified to make such decisions based on a person's health. He admitted to me that he denied a prior authorization claim on my behalf that my doctor sent in. My doctor provided sufficient proof that the medication she prescribed was necessary. How does a pharmacist who is NOT qualified make such decisions? If this isn't corruption than I'm not sure what is. The decisions these money hungry places make will altar people's health. Keep a paper trail people so legal action can be taken if your health deteriorates due to a pharmacist denial. Not even a doctor a pharmacist. Maybe one pharmacist is just a bad person over there and he is given too much power. It truly saddens me that so much control is given to those who use it unwisely. May God have mercy on this country and on people who follow the money.Sav-Rx Prescription Services, Inc. Response

I am not a recipient of medication luckily, but my significant other is, and she has an Illness that not even Jeff Bezos himself could afford out of pocket. She is a very proactive person and tries weeks in advance to start the process of getting her meds as she can’t wait for them. Time and time again I’ve seen this charade act they put on. This company may say they’re customer service based but they’re profit based like every other medical company in America. Clearly you can see by all the reviews the company isn’t helping anyone. BBB needs to help out the community of patients in desperate need of life saving treatments.Sav-Rx Prescription Services, Inc. Response

If I could give zero stars for this crappy company, I would. Fight after fight with them to get my much needed diabetic meds filled. My doctor writes a script and then has to fill out a pre-auth as well?? Why?!?! Isn’t your doctor writing a script for diabetic medication enough? I was forced to use mail order or pay outright for medication, tried it 3x, got my medication ONCE! I chose to pay out of pocket for my diabetic medication at the pharmacy as I can’t play around with hoping I get it from Sav Rx. The time I have spent on the phone jumping through hoops with them, not to mention my doctor is ridiculous! Just unbelievable! Avoid them at all costs! I will be filing a complaint with the department of insurance!Sav-Rx Prescription Services, Inc. Response

Sav-Rx administers the pharmacy benefit on behalf of Operating Engineers Local 965 Health Benefit, a self-funded plan, in accordance with the rules specified. We place an extremely high priority on customer service and take reviews such as this very seriously. The Sav-Rx Specialty Pharmacy is the preferred, but not mandated, dispensing pharmacy. Our staff ensures that the coupon is applied correctly, that any actual out of pocket is applied to the out-of-pocket accumulator, and that the patient’s out of pocket costs are lower than their negotiated benefit. A retail pharmacy may not follow these standards for the patient. On 6/13/2023, Sav-Rx received a request to start a Prior Authorization. The authorization was reviewed and approved on the same day. Our goal is to always address these cases promptly. We reached out to the retail pharmacy and successfully processed the claim. Ensuring that our members receive their proper medications in a timely manner is of the upmost importance to us.Review from Mary T

Prices go up every time I fill the medication I need all because they say there is a generic I could possibly get. Still waiting on the generic while they keep up the price of my medication. Also waiting on a switch on one med to another for insulin resistance (have to say obesity) cause they won’t cover insulin resistance and done tried every cheap one I could. Sometimes I am lucky to get a good rep on the phone but that is only 10% of the time. Most of the time I have to argue with the reps just to get something they know nothing about through to them. Constant issues with getting the meds! It’ll be a month before I get the ones I need. PA for freaking all the MEDS is ridiculous if the doctor says we need them!Sav-Rx Prescription Services, Inc. Sav-Rx administers the pharmacy benefit on behalf of Indiana Laborers Welfare Fund, a self-funded plan in accordance with the rules determined by the Plan. Sav-Rx strives for the highest level of customer service in each and every customer interaction, at all levels.
Specialty Drugs are subject to clinical review to confirm coverage through prior authorization. Prior Authorization is an accepted, standard process for specialty drug utilization throughout the healthcare industry. It is up to you and your physician to determine the best medication for your therapy, the Sav-Rx role is to ensure proper medication utilization & dosing. Our Clinical Pharmacists are educated to help you & your doctor find the most effective treatment for your condition.
Sav-Rx has worked with the retail pharmacy to process the prescription. An outreach has been made to the member and we will work with the member to be reimbursed.
We genuinely value the feedback provided by our customers.
