8/23/21 had my child receive services. It was billed through insurance and my EOB shows 0 balance. TODAY 3/16/22 they are trying to set me up on a payment plan over a balance that I do not owe! This is not the first time and it seems like fraud to me.Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 12, 2022/04/13) */ The visit to the Emergency room, in late August of 2021. Resulted in a bill for professional services along with the facility services. The father didn't understand that the EOB (Explanation of Benefits) that he received, showed only the professional services. The Insurance company placed the facility services to the patient responsibility due to a request for more information. Once the family completes the form for the requested information, their Insurance will reprocess and send an updated EOB for the late August service. Our Supervisor of Customer Service & Financial Services, called and spoke to patient's mother on 3-24-22. She let the patient's mother know, that the ER visit for professional services processed, and she has a zero balance. She then let her know she needs to reach out to their Insurance to complete the information requested, and then the facility claim will reprocess. If the form is not updated with Insurance, the patient balance will remain her responsibility. Patient's mother verbalized understanding and stated she will contact their Insurance. If the family has any further questions they can reach back out to the Supervisor or our Customer Service department at ************. Children's respects its obligation to keep details of patient encounters confidential. Any allegations raised in this particular instance appear to have been resolved. Consumer Response /* (2000, 14, 2022/04/14) */ (The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.) Childrens finally explained it to our understanding. I still do not appreciate their business practices when it comes to EOB and actual amounts owed, but this one is done with now.
