My 77 yr Old dad had money in several small accounts to pay out over 41 yrs still..On on of the small accounts & ridiculous amount of yrs on the other 2 small accounts which my dad would never live that long I tried contacting.Jeff finally in April we speak first time.My dad gave permission on the phone 3 different times for Jeff to deal with me 3/24-5/24 My dad had 2 small accounts that he had never touched. We were making arrangements for my dad to start drawing money off of those 2 accounts because my dad still has a house payment and has very limited income. Jeff kept calling my dad Only after weeks of me, leaving vms Jeff tried to convince my dad it would be better for him to take a minimum payments up till he was 105 yrs+versus getting more money now monthly. Jeff said that’s what I would do! My dad asked if I die in one month do my beneficiaries get anything he said no they do not but you’re guaranteed money up to as long as you live even 105-108 As my dad asked as I was sitting there. So here we are 11/24my dad still has not drawn off those two other accounts. I left messages again in 10/24on the office & cell phone number of the office manager, which is his wife, tried calling back into the office, a third time & they blocked my number. To reach Jeff, Is impossible ,I know my dad has told me for years he calls It will take 3-4 weeks to get a response after leaving multiple messages. Only after their Regional Office reached out to them, did the OM call me on a Saturday in Oct , Trying to blame my dad who we found out has been dealing with vascular dementia for the last couple years, which is why he wanted me making his financial decisions I am my dad‘s durable power of attorney! they knew this !My dad now has a hospital bill and he needs someone to take care of him and he needs his money. My dad should not have to worry about buying food and basics has a little bit of money that is his as of 11/6/2024,Review from Mary T

This company is a joke, my parents paid years for their policies. My mother's policy was to have around $13,000. She made the mistake of living longer that she was supposed to live, and they only paid $6,000. They are a rip off. Her payments were around $275.00 a month. I could have done better putting it the bank and got some interest. Please do not get the policy with them. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE ANYMORE. I will not I would not even insure my dog with them. I don't know how the Better Business can have them with any kind of rating. I would give them a zero.WoodmenLife Response

years ago it was a good company , but after many years my whole life policy was changed to flex life . it has now run out of money and in a few months i will have no coverage . this was done with out my consent and it is just an under handed way to skim all the money out of the policy instead of paying the benifit that was promised . my policy was sold to me in 1977 and presented as a way to prepare for retirement . the woodmen execs. will have a good retirement , i have nothing. woodmen insurance is just a run of the mill ins. company now , i would not recommend to anyone . I have 3 other policies on my family that i will cancel and try to get what little cash value is left . they have adopted a very dishonest method of doing bussiness.WoodmenLife Response

I would give them 0 stars if I could. 35 damn years my father has paid these people. He became sick. He lost his leg and eye sight to diabetes and is on dialysis. He got a letter in the mail saying they canceled his insurance after 35 YEARS! If there was a problem after 35 years then why could they not give him a courtesy call. He can not see and if he forgot a payment or a few then why could they not alert him before stealing 35 YEARS IF HIS MONEY! These people are thieves! I hope y’all can sleep at night doing people like this!!!!!!WoodmenLife Response

Rip off. Don’t waste your money. Canceled my policy over a year and a half ago. New it had cash value in it which they should have refunded. Called customer service they advised me there was no cash value. ( 3 policies) started getting bills in the mail talking about I owe them money??? Finally get a call back and was advised oh your policy is still active it’s running off the cash value? But u just told me there was no cash value. I will never ever get anything with woodmen life. They are sloppy and unprofessional and very dishonest!Review from Keith H

My grandmother passed in Feb of 2022 and we have had to jump through a ridiculous amount of hoops to get the inheritance she left for us. I've been told numerous times that they can't give me information for my own MINOR children. I finally received checks but now nowhere will cash the ones for my children because they are UTMA. When my father passed in 2010, instead of giving my mom the $ due per the certificate 2 WOW agents talked her into taking out another policy for a death benefit which was set up to be paid out of the $ from my dad's policy. My mom already had a policy-certificate with a death benefit! She didn't need two. We didn't find out until the $ was gone & they sent notice she owed 2 months pay. I have sent 3 letters to WOW & the State Insurance Commissioner. WOW has yet to reply!WoodmenLife Response

Woodmen of the World agent sold my mother a $5000 policy that was to become $10,000 upon her death. Recently the policy lapsed and the agent said my mom owed money. At this time she has invested a total of $9,449. It should have already been stopped, but she "teusted" the agent to take care of her. I've called and sent emails to no avail. Dont do business here. Wish I could warn ALL elderly people.
