I called Aspen Dental in ******* to make an appointment only to see if they can help me and what they can offer so that i can pick the right dental office for me. had an appointment on June 15, 2024. I waited way too long, while other two patients came after me but got called before me. they took the exrays and then the dental hygienist walks in again waited for that way too long, and the dentist who did not even say hi,and i had a hard time understanding what she is saying what procedures i need in then spoke in a dental language with codes and numbers to the assistant totally ignoring me no explanation nothing. after a long time of being ignored, and still no smile no patient care nothing, just told the hygienist what needs to be done, and the hygienist told me needs to be done including pulling my healthy tooth and deep cleaning that was done last year. i told them ahead of time that i am extremley scared but the doctor did not make me feel better. then the meeting with the other person to discuss the plan and the money. i already knew this was not the place for me because of the way i was being treated and their plan that i could not understand. the person spoke to me like a car sales person pressuring me to make a first appointment for the deep cleaning and to secure my appointment they wanted me to pay $130 and i paid with my card, and the rest of the plan made no sense but they took my dental insurance plan and divided it the way they wanted it to be paid, and the rest of it including the deep cleaning and other plans would be paid by me. that was another reason not to continue, but the person continued to push the process pressuring me to pay and i did. i called the office and told them it was not for me and would like my money back, and they would not give it to me, there was no appointment, there was no procedure done, no deep cleaning nothing was done but they took my money.Business response

I went to Aspen dental in November of 2022 for motto aligners. I had 2 insurance carriers at the time. I was told that my insurance covered $1685, I was left to pay about $1000 out of pocket, which I paid on the spot. On 11/15/22 I was told my insurance claim was approved and started the treatment. Then they began cancelling my appointments the day of. My treatment went on 2-3 months longer than it was supposed to. In the fall of 2023 they started sending me bills in the mail for the portion that was covered by my insurance. I attempted to call several times over the last several months and spent hours waiting on hold. I finally got someone on the phone, who told me they attempted to file monthly insurance claims, and that my insurance denied them. I called my insurance provider, who told me they requested information from Aspen dental in November of 2022, and Aspen did not respond to them. I’ve tried to call Aspen again with no luck. I did some research and I believe this is a scam. I believe they intentionally failed to communicate with my insurance provider in fall of 2022, and intentionally delayed my treatment so they could continue “attempting” to bill my insurance monthly. I believe it was all just a scam to come after me for more money over a year later. Now I believe they are intentionally not picking up the phone because the longer this takes, the higher the past due balance goes. I don’t like to complain, I don’t even send my food back at restaurants. But i truly believe aspen dental is attempting to scam me right now. I cannot get a customer service rep on the phone. I’d prefer to speak to corporate but they won’t answer the phone.Customer response

Following up on the complaint I just submitted because I remembered another detail. I called the office directly immediately after receiving the first thing they sent me. I spoke to someone in the office who told me their system was down and they couldn’t do anything about it. She told me it was likely just a computer error. It’s either they’re scamming me or they’re completely incompetent. Either way these people should not be trusted with anyones health or money.Business response
