I am coming up on one year of doing business with D.F. ******* this month for my residential propane needs. When I purchased my home, a rep met with me and explained that they do an equipment safety inspection once annually. They performed last years around that time. On XX-XX-XX I could smell propane inside my home and called them right away. I was instructed by the rep to close the valves on my tanks and he would send someone out as soon as possible, no mention whatsoever of price/financial obligation on my part or details if there would be any incurred. Two techs came out and did a leak test/safety inspection (this is what they told me in person as I waited inside, I asked them if anything needed to be repaired/replaced and they said no). I received a bill for $116.00 for this service call, noting they replaced a part as well. I called and said I was disputing this charge as I understood this was my annual safety check and only a check was done by the techs during the 25 minutes they were here. I was told the service manager would get back to me and I have not been contacted by anyone. I am looking to have this charge removed as I was never told upfront about any potential charges and how much that might be, I was understood to have an annual safety check done which this would have been this years and the techs did not mention anything about replacing/repairing parts-only doing a leak/safety check. I pay on time, every time for my services and would like to continue my service with D.F. ******* but I find this charge to be erroneous and should be removed.
