I am a tenant a tenant going on 7 years now at Twin Ponds. I have always paid my rent on time. The current rent is $2000 monthly. Although I always pay my rent on line, Twin Ponds told all tenants that on-line payments were temporarily suspended due to a a problem with thier bank and that tenants should pay at office. So on December 1, 2022 I put my rent check for $2000 in the office drop box. I noticed that my check had not been cashed timely so called the office to inquire. I was told they were delayed as things were being done manually. Twin Ponds eventually deposited my check sometime before 12/15/2022. On 12/16/22 I noticed my bank had mistakenly charged the check against my account for only $200 and not $2000. I immediately contacted the bank. They acknowledged the problem telling me the check looked crumpled making the amount unclear. The bank immediately debited my account the balance of $1800 on 12/16/22. Twin Ponds WAS PAID THE FULL AMOUNT OF $1800 that day 12/16/22. I had conversations with Twin Ponds at this time to make sure they were aware of the problem. My bank sent me a letter dated 12/16/22 saying my check **** " for $2,000 posted as $200 on 12/15/22 in error." This letter also stated that my account was charged $1,800 to cure the bank"s error. A few days ago, I received a demand from Twin Ponds that I immediately pay them $1800. I again explained the situation and gave them copies of my bank statement showing both the $200 and the $1800 debits to my checking account, together with a copy of Santander"s letter to me referenced above. To date, Twin Ponds' records still erroneously claim that my rent is in arrears $1800. This despite my request that they immediately remove this false information against my good name.Customer response
