JmS Roofing installed a new roof on our house on January 16th, 2023 and was paid in full by us per the contract $11,158.50. 9nce the job was completed, we were told by Phyl S*** that they would be back in the Spring once the snow melted with a metal detector to clean up any nails or metal pieces. We also noticed at the time there were some concerns where the roof met the gutter and was told that it was just because the shingles were cold and when warm weather came it would even out. The shingles never evened out and there is damage to our gutters. We called Phil about that and about the clean up on May 17th 2023. He said he would be out the next day and never showed. My husband had called after that and spoke with him and he gave date and time he would come out and never showed. We reached out to Phil numerous times and were told a few times he would be out to look at our concerns yet he would never show and eventually he stopped responding all together. On July 17, 2023 I called the office and spoke with Jodi, explained what was going on, she said she would let the owner, Jake Stanley, know about our issues and that he would hopefully get back to us by the end of the day. We have not heard from him as of today July 18th at 1:45 p.m. I called Jodi and let her know that we had not heard back and told her we would be contacting the BBB and she said okay. So we are stuck with probable damage to our gutters and nails and debris in the yard. We have found some on our own, ut there may be more.Business response

JMS Roofing is very sorry that any customer has had this experience with us. We pride ourselves on quality craftsmanship and leaving every job site as clean as it was when we arrived. This spring clean up was on our clean up schedule and unfortunately due to a miscommunication and it fell threw the cracks.
Phil believed that the installer that was responsible for this work was returning last month to inspect the problem area and complete all of the clean up. The installer has resolved these issues today and has done a walk threw with the customer so all complaints have been addressed.
We regret the customer feeling that there was a lack of communication, especially from the owner. Jake was on the road all day on July 17 and unfortunately was unable to respond immediately but this job is complete and customer is satisfied.Customer response

I do not accept the business's response as a resolution to my complaint because: on July 18th an employee of JMS came out to inspect the roof/gutter issue and started fixing the where the gutter meets the roof, while he was here I spoke with Anthony from JMS who said I would be dealing directly with him from now on. He said once his employee completed the repairs and took pictures he would contact me to see if we were satisfied. Anthony never contacted us to follow up.Also, the employee who was here told us when he left he would be back between 5 and 6 Wednesday night to do the clean up that never got done and he never showed. We have had no contact from JMS to see if we are satisfied with the repair and clean up so we are not sure why they are saying the customer is satisfied.

The project manager has gone back to meet with the homeowner to inspect after the installers remedied the complaints and the clean up. This meeting took place with Mr. and Mrs. ******** and both expressed satisfaction. Job site is verified complete and clean.Customer response

This company uses deceptive business practices. They entered into a contract with me in bad faith, and then after I accepted their offer (turning down other offers) they demanded more money at the project start date. They claim an error during quote, but this in not factual. Their new demand would have made them one of the higher bidders for the job. I do have a signed contract with them and will upload that when possible.Business response

To whomever it may concern I Jake S****** reached out to this customer and came to an agreement to honor his contract. Our Estimator did make an error in his quotation and the number is lower then he is required to sell a job for so we will be taking a loss on this project but are willing to get it done for the customer.
