I am a mother of a child who was formerly a student at Springdale Academy. On 12/01/2022 around 11-11:30am the teacher who was supposed to be caring and supporting my child through her transition into her new school, put her hands on my child in an aggressive, harmful manner. Being a teacher in the school as well, I witnessed the altercation and was extremely beside myself. My daughter not feeling herself that day. The teacher was belittling her, calling her names, and telling her she was not allowed to cry. When it was time to return to class I went to give my daughter comfort, instead of allowing that, her teacher grabbed her by her arm and pulled her down the hallway. With lunch being the next subject for the day, she forcefully placed my daughter to sit down on the chair. As I was in the office speaking with the administrator I watched this all happen on the cameras. She then proceeded to yell at my daughter, put her hands in her face, and told her she needed to eat and stop crying. Hearing that my daughter was so distraught, hyperventilating, and unable to breathe or speak from crying hysterically I removed her from the room. After calming her down I asked her what had happened, and she proceed to tell me all that I witnessed. Moving forward I spoke with the teacher who denied these things. I then spoke with the owner who protected her teacher. She made me feel as though being a ****************** and not expressing a no hands on rule that this kind of situation was okay. My concerns were not heard, nor was the teacher addressed. I expressed that I wanted to remove my daughter from the school due to the lack of comfortably, and unsafe environment. She felt no remorse. I politely expressed that i had a check written for registration fee, pro-rated month of November, and security deposit in which she is refusing to refund. I want this complaint heard and refund due to the actions held against my daughter.
