This company is a scam! The salesman on the phone talked me into purchasing their three year plan. My credit card was charged $1320. The salesman told me I had 30 days to call to cancel the policy for a full refund. The next week I called to cancel. I was told they had initiated the process and that I'd get a confirmation email in 1 to 2 days and a full refund within 3 - 7 days. A couple days later I received a voice mail from some guy named *** from *** asking to call him back. He never picks up. Instead you get rerouted to basic customer service where you get the run around again. I've been trying for ten days now to cancell the policy and still have not received a confirmation email cancelling the policy, much less the full refund of my $1300.Review from christopher p

This post will seem a little odd but trust me it is the truth. Ever since August 14th of 2024 I have made all attempts to cancel my subscription to select. They really didn't do anything wrong because i never had a need to use their service for the 8 months i had it. Well apparently, you just can't cancel. I even gave them 1 more month to say thank you as a customer. They have constantly called me and tried to bill my credit card ever since then. At one point they told me i owed an 85-dollar cancellation fee on a month-to-month warranty. On November 12th i reached out to the one more time to kindly ask them to stop calling and trying to bill me. The lady on the phone promised she would put me on the do not call list and stop all attempts to bill me. Within 2 hours of our conversation, they tried to bill me twice. It is now November 15th, and they have once again called me around 11 in the morning. I can't say anything about the service but they have gotten very annoying and won't stick to their word.Review from Larry L

As was posted by ****** M on 11/5/24, "BUYER BEWARE!"I purchased a Select warranty on 8/15/24 for $550.On 11/11/24, I made a claim for a irrigation line that was leaking from under my sidewalk and paid $80 for a contractor to locate where the leak was coming from and was given a cost of $500 to repair it. After the contractor submitted the claim to Select, I was given a quote for $70 that Select would cover for parts but nothing towards the labor costs. When I originally contacted Select about their warranty, the salesperson told me about the coverage, he said that everything was covered and there is nothing in my contract that says anything to the contrary.Because I was misled about the coverage that Select would provide, I called to cancel my coverage, which took almost an hour. At first, the claims supervisor said that I would receive a refund of A dollar and seventy cents, which I said was unacceptable since I only had coverage for less than three months. After long back and forth discussion, I was told that I would receive a refund of $373 by someone who claimed to be a supervisor.I received an email letting me know that a refund check would arrive within 30 days but it did not include any amount, so I called to verify the amount of the refund and was given an amount of $303, which was $70 less than what the claims supervisor had told me.After getting a call from a very nice supervisor (*****), I was told that the additional $70 would be mailed to me. Know that I was on phone calls with Select **** for well over two hours before there was finally a resolution (I hope) to my ******** say the least, my experience with Select Home Warranty was a nightmare.Review from Rochelle S

A Nightmare of Incompetence and Disrespect I cannot stress this enough: DO NOT use Select Home Warranty. This company has been an absolute disaster from start to finish, and I would never recommend them to anyone. Their customer service is abysmal, their technicians are inexperienced, and their refusal to reimburse legitimate expenses is appalling.First, their "technicians" if you can even call them thatare completely unqualified. The individuals they send out are often incapable of properly diagnosing or repairing issues. In my case, I had to bring in my own professional technicians to fix problems that Select Home Warrantys so-called experts either made worse or completely ignored. When I submitted receipts for reimbursementbecause I had no other choice but to hire competent helpthey flat-out refused to pay. Their excuse? It didnt follow their process. Their process is a joke, a way to deny legitimate claims and avoid taking responsibility.Let me be clear: this company does not care about its customers. They are happy to take your money, but when it comes time to honor their end of the deal, they will do everything possible to dodge accountability. Their lack of professionalism and integrity is unmatched.I manage multiple properties and have dealt with several home warranty companies, but Select Home Warranty is, without a doubt, the worst. I have never encountered a company so deceitful, so unhelpful, and so blatantly unconcerned with providing the service they ************ yourself the headache, frustration, and wasted money. Stay far away from Select Home Warranty. This company is an embarrassment to the industry and should not be allowed to operate. If I could give zero stars, I would. Avoid them at all costs!Review from Claudia D

This company is a scam! It should be shut down. There is virtually no coverage and, even if there is, they will find or create a loophole to get out of the service. For example, I was told on a particular claim that the issue would be covered if I purchased a $249 upgrade package. I did it because the quote from the plumber that came out was an additional $550. Two different service representatives assured me that the claim would then be resolved by the original contractor that came out. The next morning, I got an email saying that the claim still wasn't covered and that I should just pay the contractor out of pocket. So two different service representatives lied to me and took my money. Most importantly, I spent all day speaking to five different people trying to cancel my policies. Each person would refuse to cancel the policies and would instead refer me to their manager, each time saying that they'd call me within 1-2 business days. I pushed back, and said that I wanted to cancel immediately, and they'd call me within an hour or so. Finally, after about 8 hours, I was able to cancel the policies. I requested that I not be charged a cancellation fee for each, because I was lied to by the service representatives and overall disgusted by the customer service. Of course, ********************** still charged me a cancellation fee. What a scam!Review from Sharon M

****** *.Buyer beware! Run and don't look back. They will say anything to get you to purchase their policy, but what they say, is not what the policy states. I asked the sale person if they would cover anything, an older appliance, he stated yes anything. I said you will repair or replace it ? Yes. What they failed to mention was if the cost to fix or replace the item is prohibitive based on the depreciated value of the appliance they will give you the depreciated value of the item. In my case a 10 year old washer/dryer unit required a $1000 part to repair it. The cost of a new unit is $1200. The reimbursement would be $200 towards a new unit. I said that does not replace nor repair my appliance. "See section 8 of the policy". Oh, the section you never mentioned verbally when you were selling me this policy! -- that states about the depreciation two pages after you indicate that washer and dryers are covered? What a scam. this company is a bunch of crooks. Based on the amount of poor reviews, someone needs to begin a class action suit against this company for the consumer.Review from Jorge A

***** A I purchased my insured on February 21, 2024, for 1 year and they give 2 months free, so it expires on May 22, 2025 On May 2024 I called for a toilet leak and they agreed to send me a check for $318... I am still waiting for that check. I call them almost every month and they give me all kind of excuses. On June 2024 I called because my refrigerator wasn't cooling, and they told me that they are going to send me a $100 check to get a new one. So far, I haven't gotten money. On July l told them to cancel my insurance, and they told that are going to send me a check for $48.51 even that I paid for a year and only used it for 5 months. So far, I haven't gotten the check.SCAM SCAM SCAM ***** A buyauto2000@ *********Review from David A

Zero stars if that was an option. They have denied a claim for a new air conditioner and only offered $250 on the claim because I wanted to cancel the policy. Now, they want to charge me a cancelation fee. READ THE FINE PRINT! I could not get any resolution on my cancelation request, so I now have to block any and all transactions from thus company through my bank.
