I had an issue with a cross river related situation via loan, and I immediately within 2 days got a reply back with an answer and help. Though the situation wasn't great, the remediation process from their support staff was extremely quick. I don't think I've gotten that type of support before from another company other than visaReview from Candice W

Received a PPP loan through Kabbage, and apparently CrossRiver bank bought out the contracts. Although Kabbage applied for Forgiveness of the PPP loan, Cross River is indicated that they are investigating all forgiven loans, thus, retracting all forgiveness! When you reach out to follow up to inquire how to reapply for forgiveness, they cannot provide an update. This place is a SCAM! They are attempting to extort money for loans that were not applied and forgiven!Review from Kyle B

I'd give it a zero if I could! Called a number 3x, tried many extensions, not 1 person ever!! Even hitting 0 for Operator (when an option) just takes you right back into que. Longest attempt with a continuous line/que was 15 min. Likely 30 min total. Disconnected EVERY TIME!Review from Alton W

Today is April 4, 2024, I was approved for a debt consolidation on February 27, 2024, which stated, if we're disbursing loan funds to your creditors directly on your behalf, expect this process to take about 25 business days. After that time, check with your creditors to confirm that the accounts are paid off. Please be aware that regular payments to your creditors may come due between the date of this email and the date loan funds are disbursed and cleared with the creditor. For some creditors we can only mail a paper check, so the time for payment to clear could exceed 25 business days. It's best that you continue making your usual payments to creditors until you have confirmed with each creditor that the accounts are paid off. I decided to call them on the above date of April 4, 2024, to follow up just to ensure everything was going according to plan only to find out the creditors won’t be paid until April 25, 2024. This is a problem because in accordance to the contract my first re-payment is on April 14, 2024 which means I will have to pay them and my creditors who have not been paid. I spoke with the representative who gave me an option to push my first payment back to a later date which helps however, why did it take for me to call and follow up to know this information. I have no issue with the 25 business day wait period however, Achieve/Cross River Bank never communicated when the 25 business day would start nor did it state it in the contract or email. Achieve/Cross River Bank failed to communication the processing of my loan may/could take up to 25 business days to process and another 25 business to disburse to creditors.Review from Pamela A

Received a letter from Best Egg for a application for a loan that would be processed thru Cross River Bank. I never applied for a loan. When I called to inquiry on this letter, they stated they would not help me without first verify my social security number over the phone. This is a scammer trying to get personal info).Review from nicole v

I have been a customer for 7 years and this is the first time I have encountered an issue with a Cross River Bank branch employee. My favorite customer service representative (who has been at the bank a long time) at the Teaneck branch was out, and I went to the other available employee who has been with the bank only a few years to notarize an important document for me. I noticed that her notary stamp had an expired date so I returned the next day. When I pointed this out she was rude and unprofessional and would not admit there was any issue. The other employee was there and agreed with me that the document did not properly show the right date. The employee who initially notarized the document, now only partially completed the form and told me to fill out the rest myself which she completed the other day. In addition, she forgot to add her seal until I reminded her. She did not want to redo anything nor acknowledge fault so she rushed through this making other mistakes that would have caused problem for me as I could not send it out as is. There is no excuse for rudeness and unprofessional behavior to a customer. On top of that, I could not find anywhere to lodge a complaint on the Cross River website!Review from JoAnn K

Requires sending specific selfie in addition to copies of driver's license. I already had an account for several months when I changed my cell phone number. I never was able to change it with the bank because they require a "hostage" photo with all kinds of information I have too much anxiety to comply with. I'm having a very hard time getting access to my money. Using an old cell phone number on my account when someone else owns the number is a violation of my security. I don't know how they get away with it. Where are the regulators?Review from Lolita W

I received a letter in the mail, stating that an individual tried applying for a loan in my name but got denied to due asking for too much money, they went through Credit karma, I did not apply for this, this is the 2nd time this has happened. I have a freeze on my credit report, so I have no idea how this is happening. I tried calling Cross River Bank, yet, I get no answer, but I do get hung up on? How is this even possible??? I am not only shocked, but completely dumbfounded as to how this is happening?Review from Lindsey H

If I could give upgrade a zero-star review, I would. I have had multiple accounts with upgrade for about a year now. Out of nowhere last night, I received 4 emails stating they were suspending my checking account, my debit card, and two of my savings accounts. I assumed there was some sort of mistake or possibly fraud on my accounts, so I called them in a panic. They informed me that they have decided to close ALL of my accounts and would not give me an explanation as to WHY. I asked to speak to someone in the fraud department to try and figure things out because I did not want all of my accounts closed and they told me that was an internal department that they did not have ANY access to. They also deleted my external account so they made me 3-way call my other bank to confirm that accounts information so they can send my money back to that bank account. They also informed me that they will not pay out the last two weeks of interest because they account will be closed at the time the interest is paid out at the end of the month and it is going to take 7-10 business days for me to have my money transferred from upgrade to my other bank account. Essentially, I am out an entire month of interest on that money. **Back story on my accounts - the ONLY transactions on my accounts were deposits. No withdrawals, no wires, no external transfers.... only money being deposited into their bank. No funny business. I am so mad that NO ONE will tell me why these accounts are being closed! Save yourself the anxiety and bank with a physical bank that is close to you!!! Shame on Upgrade and shame on Cross Riverbank!!
