We hired Simmons Odd Jobs to convert our garage into a bedroom that would be safe for my twins to sleep in. He promised that since he is a licensed general contractor that everything would be performed to code and he would obtain to proper permits needed. I found out today through the city permitting office that this was a lie. He did not obtain permits, did not finish the job and the work done was poor quality. Our garage door was not properly sealed shut or insulated. There was still light coming through when they put up the frame and pressed wood to block the garage door. On the outside they put cocking along the bottom to say this will keep rain or moisture from coming in. He lied about materials used and tapped into our electrical to put in more lights before having the electrician add a fan later. There are too man errors in this man's work to describe here alone. The electrician never saw how the wiring was split to add in the new lights to our garage. He refused to give us an official contract other than the quote offered. He will remove and flag any negative reviews and block you the second you have concerns. This is not a professional person to do business with. Home owners beware.Business response

I am waiting to receive paperwork from CID, to see if this can be resolved. Our customer has not been happy with any aspect of the build, from a ceiling fan being too low, to having asked for 4 can lights, and then stating it was too bright, sheetrock not right, etc. I have been cussed at and called a scammer during this project, and that is absolutely not true.

We hired **** ******* to complete a tile job on September 26th, 2022. The original payment was made on the 26th; $2615.48. Work started on September 28th and involved tiling a laundry room, 3/4 bathroom, and entry area. On September 28th, 2022 Simmons odd jobs was paid $4815.05 to expand the tile job to include the master and guest bathrooms. Work started on September 29th in the master bathroom. The quotes that were paid, in full, included the cost of a high quality tile, which **** stated came out to $7 per square foot. Near the completion of the job, on October 15th, 2022, it was learned that the entry way, master bath, and guest bath had the incorrect tile was installed. The laundry room had both, the incorrect tile and the originally quoted tile installed. On October 17th we contacted **** to notify him of the error. This was the final successful communication with ****. Fourteen attempts were made to communicate with **** to resolve the issue. Rather than discuss a solution to the issue, **** chose to cut off communication. The last attempt to speak with **** was made on October 23rd. According to the tile retailer, which all tile was purchased from, the tile that was incorrectly installed is priced at $1.95 per square foot. Aside from the low quality and incorrect tile being installed, the job was also left incomplete. **** said multiple times that they would install transition pieces, which were never purchased. The tile in the guest bathroom was placed beyond the door frame and on top of a vinyl plank floor. The grout in this location is already cracking and beginning to crumble. This issue was discussed with **** multiple times and was never corrected.
