I have attached emails between myself and Amelia at Meerkat as well as a n email I tried to send this morning to the owner. It is difficult to obtain contact info for that person. The attachments speak for themselves. If I am unable to contact the owner or someone other than James or Amelia, I will simply post my concerns online. I thought someone else at Meerkat might want the opportunity to respond before I did that. Thanks.

We paid astronomical amount of money (well over $1200); signed a year's contract (guy who initially came to house was a fast talker; never showed any paperwork; was doing everything on cell phone and just had me sign on cell phone without us getting anything in writing until later--our fault I guess.. if I had understood or seen that in addition to the cost of the year's contract you had to pay another $185 every three months for what amounted to pretty much just putting out traps (which could be gotten at home depot for $7) & poorly sealing up a couple of areas outside (without ever going into the attic or on the roof where we are certain the mice were coming in despite our asking them to; as they were always found upstairs near the attic and never on the main floor of the house) I never would have decided to use the services. They also never vacuumed/cleaned up areas near the attic where a couple of mice were caught in their traps that needed cleaning up even though they were coming to the house a couple of times to do so. Note that Meerkat had to return at least 5 or 6 xtra times (different person each time so that person was totally unaware of what the previous person did & was not even knowledgeable about what had been done the previous time)....(& one time, the guy who came actually took away our own electronic mouse traps that we had purchased at home depot; never set out any meerkat traps.) My contract began in July of 2021; was supposed to end July 2022-----the last time they came was in April of 2022 (& charged me $162 plus $50 "svc. fee" (have since rec'd bill each month adding on $50 svc fee each time!) & we had mice on & off despite them coming out so many times from July when we signed the contract right up until April. (problem was never resolved) We just caught another two mice last week. At last visit in April 2022; we were told that other areas needed to be sealed up around the roof area but that they don't do that. NOT satisfied.

The customer declined our Metal-X and other Seal-up programs due to finances and instead opted for a lower level program (trapping and minor seal-up) which was not enough, yet customer expectation was for the superior programs. The $50 service fee's were for the customer paying late. We apologize we couldn't make the program work for this customer, we do value their business and relationship. There is a balance of $462 on the account due to the last service not being paid and accumulated late fees, In good faith I am waiving that balance and zeroing out the customer account. Best Regards, Nick

A very thorough Meerkat representative visited my house in July to assess my problem with bats and flying squirrels in my attic. He told me it would be $4,000 to evict and exclude the rodents. I decided to contract with them, and in the following few weeks received different teams of technicians, who identified what they believed were different locations for entry. In October it became clear that the problem had not been resolved, as we were being awakened, on an almost nightly basis, at 2-4am, by squirrels in the attic, directly over our bedroom. A new team of technicians, Evan and Eli, have let me know in their last two visits that the problem is that my situation requires an installation called ****** *****, which would cost an additional $4,000. I have the photos they have taken of spots where they think squirrels are probably getting in. I have spoken with Lauren and Joe at Meerkat, who are very nice, but who seem not to communicate with their technicians, because Evan and Eli had no idea that I had been in touch with the company when they were here last. The $4,000 that I paid to fix this problem is obviously a lot of money. I feel that there has been a bait and switch here, the company continues to send technicians every couple of weeks, because I am still under 'warranty,' but they seem to refuse to either refund my money, or fix the problem that I paid them to fix. In the meantime, we can't sleep, and soon I will have no choice but to pursue legal recourse.

Response taken by phone:  We found a structural deficiency which could not be detected during the estimate.   Our contract states that if any structural deficiencies are found, it will void the warranty until the deficiency is rectified.  We did offer him a significant discount to do the additional work but he declined.   The full warranty will be reinstated once the work is done.

Joe Jerome called from the business and he explained that they attempted to do the preparation work but could not do this due to conditions in the home, so the consumer was charged a minor service fee and $550 was refunded on July 14.
