On May 17th 2022, I signed a contract with Steve DePalma for concrete work at our house. The work was to include installing a concrete floor and footer in our garage and a concrete patio off of our deck. All inclusive, the work was quoted at $13,000. On May 18th, I paid a $6,500 cash deposit to this contractor for work that was supposed to start on Monday, May 23rd 2022. However, they never showed up to do the work. I received a call saying that there would be a week or so delay. It's been 6 weeks and the contractor still hasn't shown up. They don't return phone calls and when someone does answer the phone they say that we're on their list and that they are very busy. At this point, we have communicated with them that we are no longer moving forward with the project and that we would like our deposit back. I've reached out to them several times, the owner Steve DePalma said he would call me to arrange getting my deposit back but didn't and now won't return calls or texts. I need help!Customer response

Just an update that the owner of Steve DePalma construction paid me $3,500 towards what he owes me on Saturday. He claims he will pay the rest of this friday. Thank you.
