I had a fantastic experience at the bank today thanks to Nadia .she was incredibly helpful,professional and efficient. She patiently answered all my questions and she printed all the statements that I need. It was at the location 115 S Ridge st.Review from Tony G

Unprofessional, unknowledgeable, lies, lacks passion and understanding, and does not support veterans. My issues all started when I put my home on contract the first week of Aug 2024. To sell my home and to provide an outstanding interest rate for a buyer, I elected to allow assumption of my VA Loan. It is now Nov 2024 and the bank continues to drag their feet and make our financial situation more and more dire with every day that we don't have a closing date. We have called (no return calls), left emails (no return emails), and when we actually spoke to the loan officer and his supervisor, we were lied too. I requested the office lead's leadership on a number of occasions, because I didn't feel he nor his loan officer could or wanted to push the loan to close (was not provided). I contacted VA Mortgage and was provided a directive regarding VA Home Loans. A benefit of the VA Mortage as a 20+ year Air Force veteran is having the ability to allow an assumption of the loan. VA Circular 26-23-27, stipulates that the bank has 35 to 45 days to provide approval--the number of days are determined if a bank has approval authority or if they have to go to the VA for approval. In either case, the VA Assumption should be accomplished within a set period of time. I did attempt to use M&T Customer Service and all they did was transfer my calls to the very same office that had been failing me to date. In fact, the last time they transferred me to the loan officer, he could not pick up and soon after the transfer ended, the loan officer sent me an email, another delay. On one of the delays, the loan officer said "he would have additional info for me in two days--called the third day to find that the individual was out of office for an additional two days--has been continuous throughout the process. The supervisor in an attempt to stop me from inquiring, told me he could not give info to a third party--I am the current mortgage holder. Next stop Bank Commission.Review from Marie R

Teller didn't disclose five day hold on my new account without notifying me first in the drive thru she deposited my money first and I asked to take out a little money and then she said there's a five day hold make sure you ask there first it's been over seven days now and I've gotten another week check and still no money.Review from Paige J

M&T bank is a horrible bank to finance with, They scam customers with their 'additional principal payment' policy, They continue to charge interest when it is not due. They lack the compacity to understand when you reach out. They mislead you and lie. Will never use again or recommend to others. They have been the most unpleasant bank to work with.Review from martin m

I have been very disappointed with my current dealing with M&T Bank. We have a lot of damage to our home from Hurricane Helene. The insurance company did pay off with no problem but the check was issued to us and M&T Bank. We thought the process of repairing our house was going to be an easy process but M&T Bank have made it worse than the hurricane. We had to pay money from our own pocket to have trees removed from the top of our house that the insurance company did include in the claim. It's been weeks since submitting the paperwork and we have yet to receive any funds from M&T Bank. At this rate it may take months to repair the roof and address any mold that may be in the house. I understand that they have interest in the home but they differently do not have interest in the homeowner. This process is no good.Review from Srinivas J

Horrible bank to deal with. Paid off loan on RV early on 10/7/24. Upon their receipt of my payoff, I was locked out of the app immediately. Have been trying to get them to send release of lien and title for 3 weeks. Talked with Jasmine twice (she denied speaking with me the first time). She gave me 2 different dates the release of lien and title were mailed. At first, she said they would come together. 2nd time she gave different date and said title was mailed separately. Spoke with a supposed manager, John, employee ID #*******. He could not confirm date mailed and claimed he could not email me copy of release of lien. Said he could only fax it. That makes no sense since fax method is completely unsecure. He said our account is closed (I assume he means paid off) but cannot send me a receipt. I am told to wait at least another week for documents in the mail. I informed him we are having problems with mail (getting ads but no other mail). Spoke with post office and they confirmed they have a serious problem with Memphis mail distribution center (our out of town mail is routed there). John would not tell me if they will resend ROL and title by different means after I wait until Nov 4. He also told me they were not technologically up to speed. Interesting since they have an app, can process your payments immediately, lock you out of app upon receipt of payoff. Will make sure I never do business with them again.Review from Jacqueline r

My original bank transferred my mortgage to M & T out of 14 years never late or insufficient funds however this month I put in wrong account saw it wasnt taken out but returned for insufficient. I immediately put in right account called M& T they said no problem no charge I was relieved. However on 10 23 24 I received a letter dated 10 17 24 ( I paid and spoke to M & T on 10 16 24. I called on 10 25 24 and ask if they coukd waive fee but since it wasn't late and Belinda M. Saud it would have been better if it was late. I asked to speak to supervisor to see if they could assist. After waiting online Alyssas told me the same if it was late we coukd have waved it. I disappointed because no solution was offered to protect me in the future if this mishap was to happen. ( I am elderly women with a disability and if I was in hospital or died no solution). This bank has no heart I will be glad when I thru with M & T because I have never been late or had insufficient funds ( not now either). SmhReview from Truly F

This place does not even deserve one star somebody opened a fraudulent account under my name and these helpless people could not even direct me to the correct place to make a claim on top of being hung up on several times they kept shuffling me back and forth and I still have yet to report a claim great job M&T Bank
