In August, we contacted JMEG Installations via their ******** page after confirming the quality of their work with some former customers. Meghan D*****, an employee of JMEG Installations, replied to our message and referred us to her boyfriend Jim P****** regarding getting a quote for the work we wanted done. Jim P****** came, quoted the work, we accepted the quote and provided him a substantial deposit which he deposited in his bank the very next day. After several weeks of scheduling excuses and no work getting done, Jim P****** contacted us on the first day he was finally scheduled to start some work and asked us to pay for the supplies required for that job since his account at ***** was locked and he no longer had access to our deposit to purchase the supplies directly. Based on these events, we notified him we wanted to cancel the job and get a full refund of our deposit. He agreed to a full refund of our monies and even signed a promissory note guaranteeing re-payment. After several weeks of broken promises about making payments against the monies he took from us, we were forced to get an attorney to send a formal letter of demand when he defaulted on the promissory note. He received and signed for our demand letter but never contacted our attorney and did not make any payment by the extended deadline outlined in the letter. Our last text exchange with Jim P****** was on November 9, 2023 and as of the date of this post he has not contacted us or our attorney or made any effort to return our money. At this time, we are actively seeking civil and criminal penalties and remedies in this matter. We are sharing this so others in the community and/or friends of ours don’t get victimized by this company and these individuals.

I am currently in the midst of an egregious battle with JMEG Installations (James P****** and Meghan D*****), to recover my full 50% deposit that was given to them in good faith. Despite our initial discussions and their assurances, the services promised (finishing basement and egress window) were not fulfilled, and as a result, I was left with no choice but to seek a refund for the aforementioned deposit. I am also dealing with the ******** County District Attorney, as well as ********* Police, to recoup my losses and investigate criminal charges of Home Improvement Fraud, Deceptive or Fraudulent Business Practices, and Theft by Deception. What's more concerning is their unprofessional behavior when my wife and I requested a refund for the full amount of the deposit. Megan D***** of JMEG verbally abused my wife and used offensive language and belittled her. Upon contacting James P****** to address the issue, he initially agreed to the refund but later changed his tone, using threats and intimidation tactics. He told me verbatim he would “pound my face in”. I was disgusted with their lack of professionalism, constant excuses, and just wanted my money back. This escalated to a point where I had to involve the police and legal authorities due to their hostile behavior. As per our agreement and the timeline we discussed, the work was supposed to commence shortly after the deposit was made. However, despite their commitments, they failed to show up to the job site as promised. On multiple occasions, scheduled commencement dates were arranged for the initiation of the project. However, each of these instances was met with explanations and excuses that prevented the commencement from taking place. From the get-go, I do not believe I was ever told anything that was accurate or truthful. In the midst of these alarming circumstances, Megan sent a Cease and Desist letter in an attempt to intimidate and silence us from sharing our honest experience.
