On Wednesday,March 27,2024 I was approved for a loan by a company named ******* ****** *****. I made a withdrawal of $490.00 in cash on 3/27/2024 @ Countryside Credit Union. The Credit Union called me today and told me the funds were a scam and I needed to repay the money back. I disagree because I have paperwork , and proof of receipts that the money came from a reputable ligit loan company. I made a withdrawal from my account in the amount of $490.00. The Credit Union argues that I have been scammed because I withdrew the funds and I should pay them back . I do not owe them any money. They also instructed me to file a police report.

Dear Ms. *******Please find below summary and resolution activity on your ******** ****** ***** account regarding your complaint as described in the above case with the Better Business Bureau. Summary: Below is a summary of the interaction you have had with us: 3/28/2024; You contacted us via phone regarding getting access to your online banking. After we verified the account it was identified the account was restricted due to a concern for fraudulent activity. Our concern for fraud was due to the multiple mobile check deposits completed on your account that showed the location of deposit was outside of NYS and from foreign countries. We shared that our fraud department had attempted to call to discuss the *** ***** *** checks that were being deposited into your account. We asked if you had provided your online banking login with anyone, and you confirmed that you had provided this to the company you were working with for a loan as they required access to deposit the funds. At this point we shared our further concerns of fraud, and that you should not need to provide this information, nor should you share your online banking login with anyone. We asked if you still had the funds from the first check and you described that you had already sent the money to the company via *******. You continued to let us know that you kept the receipt from loading a card at ******* to send to the company via *******, all the documents from the person you were working with and made note of the phone number they called from. We explained that you would be responsible for the repayment of the negative balance in the account and guided you to contact your local police department to explain what happened to see if they could help. We then discussed a repayment plan by asking what amount you could pay towards the negative balance and frequency of payment. You shared that you could pay $50 each month until the negative balance was paid in full. Once the negative balance was paid in full, we discussed closing this account and opening a new account for you.Resolution: On March 28, 2024, we were able to discuss our concerns for the fraudulent checks deposited into your account. We successfully returned the check for $229.81 deposited earlier in the day. The previous two checks in the amounts of $495.81 and $225.81 were processed and we were unable to return. Both checks were returned from the other financial institution on April 1, 2024. During our conversation on March 28, 2024, we shared that you would be responsible for the repayment of the negative balance in the account and established a repayment plan based on what you could commit to paying. Please be rest assured, we want to protect you and your finances from any further fraudulent activity. We are here to help by answering any questions or assist in any way you need. Kindest Regards, Bonnie B******* VP of Operations

I did not keep those funds. That loan company ******* instructed me to go to ******* and put the money on a debit card , I loaded those funds on my debit card in the amount of $450.00 on March  27,2024 in Syracuse NY. I was instructed to send funds to a **** *** the credit union allegedly says the entity is a scam. I have proof that I did not keep those funds. I am an honest person no matter what my financial circumstances are. I didn’t keep those funds because I knew it wasn’t my money. $40 from my bank account did belong to me .
