Words cannot express how profoundly bad this business is, and how utterly incapable of providing a good customer experience they are. I have seen a few prescription drug managers in my 59 years, and ProAct is worse than the worst by orders of magnitude. I can't for the life of me understand why any reputable company would contract with this business to administer their pharmacy benefit for their employees. Last month I made three attempts to pick up a refill of a prescription that I've been taking for months (ProAct is a new provider in January of 2024) and I finally gave up and just paid for the prescription out of pocket. I've been told I need pre-authorization, even after my Dr provided it, then told they would only approve 7 days, then told they will only dispense 7 days over 30 days, regardless of what my Dr prescribes. Their website is even more frustrating than their customer service and its usability is worse than a site built by a 10-year-old back in 1985. Even in their feeble response to Deanna B. below, they cite rules, policies, excuses and other nonsense to justify their exceedingly poor service. Their marketing is good... and they'll tell you all day long that they are "100% committed to provide the best customer service possible" but make no mistake... ProAct is structurally incapable of providing even a moderately acceptable customer experience. It's been 2 years and not one positive review. Companies everywhere should drop this poor excuse for an employee benefit.Review from Deanna B

I have now been off my medication for 4 months because of this awful place. I have spent hours on the phone with these people trying to get my medication. First they just cut off my medication at six months telling me I had to send a preotherization in before I could get my medicine. Okay no problem I have my doctor send in the preotherization in. I hear nothing back so I call I get transferred twice both times explaining what’s going on and so man tells me that I can’t get my medication till they send more proof of my condition, tells me they have reached out to my DRs office multiple times and had gotten no response. Said the matter was closed and I had to re open another claim. So I called my DRs office again they tell me they never recieved any follow up and the preotherization had everything I needed but they would send a new one. Yesterday I call again and ask how the new claim is going and they tell me I should be all good now. I was said that’s great! Nope it wasn’t great I get another call this time telling me I have been dropped as a patient at my doctors office. I am now panicking and I have no way to confirm this so I take a day off from work to talk to my doctor and she tells me they’ve never sent anything stating I’ve been dropped and all my appointments are fine. PROact is the biggest scam I have ever had the displeasure of having to use.ProAct, Inc Response

Proact Pharmacy Services sincerely apologies for any inconvenience or frustrations this situation may have caused you. We have reviewed your concerns and the details of the data surrounding the fills that were processed for the medication in question. The medication needed is FDA approved for a maximum duration of 24 months. This medication does not require a prior authorization initially but does have a quantity limit flag of 6 months, then requires a prior authorization to move forward. Proact had paid claims 5/30/23, 6/27/23, 7/25/23, 8/26/23, 9/25/23, and 10/25/23 with no prior authorization required. On 11/3/23, this medication started rejecting for Quantity Limits Exceed Maximum Allowed. The prescriber started a prior authorization request on 12/13/2023 for continuation of therapy. We requested additional information on 12/18/23 and 12/19/23. There was no additional response from the prescriber, so that prior authorization was then abort/dismissed on 12/29/23. On 1/15/24 the original request was reopened by the prescriber, however, the prescriber’s office sent in the same information as before, so we sent an additional request for the same information that was previously requested. On 1/19/24 ProAct was asked by member if we could send all information and documents regarding the prior authorization request. This was completed later that day. On 1/23/24 this case was escalated to clinical from the helpdesk. A clinical pharmacist called and explained what was going on with the request, including the attempts we made to request the information we needed surrounding the FDA approved duration. The prescriber’s office was called, and a voicemail left. Fortunately, we were able to move forward with approval based on the claims file and information provided from the patient and approved the prior authorization. We called you back to let you know about the approval and to reach out to your pharmacy to have them reprocess the claim. We see that there was a paid claim at ******* on 1/23/24. The authorization is placed for one year. We again apologize for any inconvenience and hope that we will have the opportunity to regain your confidence in ProAct. We are 100% committed to provide the best customer service possible. If you have any other questions or concerns, please reach out to our help desk at ***************Review from Christine O

My daughter’s neurologist placed an order for her epilepsy medicine over 2 weeks ago. Called for the status and the medicine was never processed. She had only days left of her current supply and cannot be without her meds. Days went by back and forth with customer service and was told they would try to expedite the medicine, One set arrived and it was the wrong dosage and the main drug that is desperately needed never arrived - the status is still saying a label was created. She is now without her medication for tomorrow and we will have to have emergency calls placed to doctors and a local pharmacy, This is criminal. When you know a person can’t be a day without their medicine and you promise it would be overnighted, you are liable for that. This pharmacy can not be trusted,Review from Daniel M

While the general customer service is kind and personable, the pharmacy and insurance is a unacceptable level of some combination of delays, internal lack of communication, or lack of actual work being done for the orders. I have had to get two emergency refills for epilepsy meds, and will have to get a third now as I called and got them to process it yesterday, rather than eleven days ago when a previous C.S. rep said it would be processed and shipped within two days of that call, only to find out eleven days later that it was never processed in the first place. Getting my medications has never, in my life, been as difficult as it has been now.Review from Tangela M

Our insurance started on December the 1st and so far they have not done me any good I have been on a medication for diabetes since March of this year and now they're saying it requires pre-authorization which could take up to a month or two so basically I'm just sitting on my thumbs waiting to take a diabetes medication to help my blood sugar go down and I got to hope and pray that I don't get sick in between that.. I would not recommend this company for anyoneReview from Terry S

What rip off!! I was told when I signed up that diabetic meds were covered and when the pharmacy called my insulin and pump was about $1800.00. Never have I been so mad!! Not only that they did not cover the cost but blocked me from using a discount code from the manufacturer of the products. DO NOT USE THIS INSURANCE!! I live on a fixed income and I'm disable. If I could leave negative number I would!!Review from Orval T

Worst pharmacy company I have to deal with. If i only knew that this is I have to deal with I would have not sign. I have no serious issue like this with other pharmacy company. They don’t care about the patient situation. Here is my case - 2 medication. 1 for BP I have been paying $12 or less before and second medication PREP 99% prevents you of getting HIV - PREVENTS! My PCP provided them all the medical notes! 3 weeks of waiting did not even bother to call me that they won’t cover it! Mind you I told them way back before I’m running out of pills of because of this I have to ration my pills!!! And yes the plan they have “force” you to get it from them cause you know if you dont it’s out of network ********!!! From $12 to $47 90 days pill!!Review from Renee G

I only gave one star because I can't give anything less!! This is the worst RX plan I have ever had the misfortune to deal with. I have argued with them for a week and a half over a medicaiton that my doctor prescribed, that I have taken last year and they aren't sure they can approve it!! Who are they to tell me what my doctor should prescribe. They held my prior authorization for over a week then sent it back to my doctor with additional questions!! They do not want to talk over the phone and only want to communicate via email. Horrible company!!! Stay away!!!!Review from Shawnice Y

They are awful!!! I placed an order for mail delivery. My company's insurance changed, and we were forced to use them. Anyway, I placed an order for my medication before I ran out of it. Proact didn't have a 90 day supply, and it took 3 weeks for them to finally get it. So I was out of the medication for 3 weeks. It was a med to help with uterine fibroids. Needless to say, after 3 weeks with no medication, things got really bad, really fast. By the time I finally received the medication, it was too late. They don't follow up like they say they will, there is always some story as to why they can not spend what is needed when it's needed. They seem very low-budget and ineffective to me. If I could leave no stars , that would be giving it more credit than its due!
