Was told there was a 375$ fee which was for septic dye testing, which was more than a competitors price. It failed because of a dry well problem which they told me could be fixed by running a pipe from my camp into the septic. This cost me 800$. They said they could then release a passing test report. They then said that the repair invoice did not state that the water was working properly so they would have to go out and retest for 150$. I offered to have the repair report state that the water was working properly. They refused this.Business response

The charge was for a septic dye test and water flow test . Based on the distance we needed to charge for a second dye test,. The repair was done on the dry well issue by a contractor Mr. ********* hired. My understanding that an engineer also was involved. Our company was requested by the owner, herein noted, to send a passing septic dye test report, based on the repair made by the contractor. Legally, we could not do that, another dye test needed to be done, showing no leakage on the ground surface. For us to do another dye test we would be charging to do this. The price was less than we would normally charge to go that far approximately 70 miles round trip. Our charge for septic dye test that distance is $250.00.( We charged $250. For the septic dye test and $125. For the flow test initially). We were charging less to do another dye test but Mr. ********* did not want to pay again . This has been a difficult time for Mr. *********, and other people involved in the sale. However we are required by county regulations to do everything by code, and we can not do otherwise. I hope this provides answers for you . Thank you, Gloria F , Lakeshore TestingBusiness response

After the septic dye test I was told that I would have to run a pipe to the septic and send them the invoice and they would then issue a passing test. They said nothing at that time about their need to visit the camp again to test at an additional charge.Business response

Business relayed to BBB:
Consumer wanted an extra test for free and business cannot provide free services, especially when they need to travel 60 miles for the testing.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. This is not so hard to understand. When I first contracted with them for their service they told me their fee was $350. Only after completing their service did they tell me that it was going to be an additional $150. This is unethical and no way to do business. Regards, ******* *********Customer response
