I contracted with Long Island blacktop to repave my driveway. Within a month or so I noticed problems with the work and notified the owner, *****, that the asphalt was coming up.Months later (about March 2024) after more damage, I informed him that I wanted the work fixed under warranty. I never heard back.

Contract was for a blacktop driveway , a concrete apron, and a 120ft of concrete walk and belgium block driveway border.. Total contract was for $11390.00. Gave contractor 50% deposit as stated in contract.25% at middle of work completed, and 25% at end of job.Work completed to date is rip out of old driveway, installation of new belgium block, installation of Concrete apron, and prep for driveway blacktop. No work began on 120ft of concrete walkway.Contractor requested additional $800 for concrete walkway which I agreed to paying reluctantly. We had a schedule for completion. Contractor changed completion date based on availability. Agreed to move installation up a few days to allow for his scheduling etc. . Discussed process on day before expected work to start. He sent me a payment schedule at 10:30pm outlining balance based on the 25% payment due. Which I took no objection to. Contractor did not return to jobsite as anticipated. After multiple calls and texts that were ignored. He repsonded at 1000pm the following day indicating that since I did not respond to the outline of the payment schedule remaining he decided not to comeback and is now walking away from the job with no discussion or attempt to resolve. I have no issues with paying him the balances he is due for the work that he is contracted to complete. He will not return any correspondence. I now have to hire a new contractor to complete a job that is mid stream and will ultimately cost me more .I believe the contractor took on a larger job and potentially underbid my contract.
