To whom it may concern,I have bent over backwards to resolve the issues surrounding Mr. ********'s house and the painting project 360 Painting was hired to perform 2 1/2 years ago. We prepped the home and painted it under good conditions. There is no good reason that the paint should have been bubbling on the home as it did. I met with Mr.******** when he brought the issue to my attention and agreed to repaint the areas that were bubbled, which we did. Several months passed and the bubbling started again. I met with him again and agreed to re scrape and repaint the areas again. Which we did. The bubbling persisted. I brought an expert from ******* ******** over to look at the home and take pictures to send off to other paint experts in the ******* ******** organization. They all agreed that the reason for the bubbling is/was moisture coming from inside the home ( source unknown) that was trying to escape through the sealed paint surface when the outside sun and temperature were hot. I then explained this to Mr. ******** and he asked me to repaint the home once again. I told him that we could do that but that it would not solve the underlying problem and that the bubbling would continue even after we repainted again. I offered to refund Mr.******** $1000.00 to settle the matter and he asked for $1250.00 instead saying that would be acceptable. We agreed and shook hands and I wrote him a check for $1250.00 on 09/25/2023 which he accepted. The matter was then put to rest on 09/25/2023. I was contacted again by Mr. ******** 03/29/2024 asking me to come over and give him an estimate to stain his back deck. I agreed to meet with him and have a look at it. I gave him the estimate which he declined and then he began to complain again about the bubbles on his house. I again explained to him that the only way to prevent the bubbles would be to find out where the moisture was getting in behind the siding and remedy that problem. I suggested he contact a company that specializes in "wet basements" and see if they could suggest any remedy , thinking that was the most likely way moisture would be getting behind the siding of his home. He agreed that was a good idea. I had not heard anything more since then until this complaint. For the record, I have lost thousands of dollars trying to remedy this problem for Mr.********, only to find out that the issue has nothing to do with the process, paint or any other product we used to produce this project. We have produced hundreds of similar projects with no issues even remotely close to those we had with the *******'s home. In good faith, I did everything possible to remedy the situation including a refund agreed upon by Mr.********. I am sorry that I was not able to remedy the issue for Mr.******** but I cannot be held responsible for an underlying condition that there was no way I could have known about before painting the home. If I did know of the condition, I would never had agreed to produce the project. As far as I am concerned this matter was settled when Mr. ******** agreed to the refund and cashed the check. Sincerely,Ian D W*****Owner-360 Painting of Syracuse.

      Customer response

Better Business Bureau: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. BBB spoke to the customer and the following was relayed:I did take some money back because I was led to believe we had a moisture problem, which there is not. No moisture issue has been detected. I believe the issue is either due to the fact that they painted the aluminum siding in 90 degree heat or the siding was not properly prepped. They also should have redid the entire area instead of just where it bubbled so that it matched. We would like the issue repaired and corrected once and for all. Regards, ***** ********
