I had a highly unfavorable experience with Upgraded Electrical Installations, and despite never having written a company review before, I feel compelled to share my ordeal to prevent others from going through the same. I hired Victor M****, the owner, for several electrical tasks, including upgrading the panel, relocating the main service line for my above ground pool, and ensuring compliance with Niskayuna, NY's inspection requirements. However, numerous issues arose during the process. Firstly, we had a heated argument over his responsibility in ensuring the pool would pass inspection, as he never requested an electrical certificate despite my thorough explanation of the job requirements. Secondly, I witnessed him cutting the cord to the pool chlorinator, although he denied doing so initially and later claimed it was at the inspector's instruction. As a result, my saltwater pool is now non-functional, and I either have to hire another electrician for rewiring or search for a replacement cord. Overall, this has been an incredibly distressing experience, and I cannot recommend him to anyone. It is worth mentioning that I suspect he may be dealing with mental health issues, which may have contributed to the situation.

According to the signed contract, the work that was to be performed was to relocate the outdoor primary service entrance and upgrade the panel to meet the requirements of Niskayuna County which they requested due to the outdoor pool being situated directly underneath the power lines leading from the ******** **** service transformers to the service entrance location and meter which was in violation to ******** ********** codes and laws. There was no mention of work for the pool within the written and agreed upon contract. The work which was performed and completed by myself was then approved and certified by the Authority of Jurisdiction Inspection Code Enforcers Office of the state of NY. This certificate of approval was then provided to the client so they may show proof the work was done according to Niskayuna County and NY State regulations. During the work I performed I had noticed incorrect wiring and some violations regarding the swimming pool connections. As a licensed electrician, I am mandated by the state of NY to notify the customer of any violations and hazardous conditions of electrical wiring and equipment. When I confronted the client regarding the work, she had informed me she had another licensed electrician perform work on the pool prior to my visit and that it had passed inspection. After the inspector reviewed and approved my work, he had also taken notice of the prior work done on the pool which was in violation of code and informed her she would need to bring the pool up to code, which he was mandated to revisit and inspect.  I took it upon myself to resolve the pool violation with no added cost. During the additional work, I had noticed there was a 6 FT cord with live bare wires at the end, lying on the ground within inches away from the pool. For safety concerns, I clipped the tip of the bare conductor wires, 3/4ths of an inch, placed the cord into a weather proof box and placed the cables at a safe distance. Upon completion of the work for the pool, the inspector confirmed the pool was now up to code and a certificate of approval was provided to the client.  Please see the signed contract I have attached to my reply for reference.
