bought a 2010 ***** ******** used pick-up from the dealer in oct 2022. they inspected as required by ny state law. 6 months later , in april the frame had broken half . the dealership said that it just needed heavier shocks . i took their word for it . and they are the only place i took the truck to for repair . being on a disability and a fixed income , several other truck problems , health issues and family emergencies prevented the shock replacement. in october 2023 they inspected it a second time . upon advice from a mechanic that it didnt sound like a shock issue i took it to another garage . i was informed the frame was completely broken in half . and that it had been in for a very long time . the frame was completely rotted out and never should of been sold. also the frame had been patched before i bought it in three different places. i went back to bob adams three times to see if they would fix it. i was told they didnt do that kind of work . they also refused to help me pay for the repairs. chris , the co owner i purchased it from admitted he knew it had been patched. it is almost impossible to find someone to do this kind of repair. as a garage needs to remove the gas tank . some one has to tow it to a welder. and a welder has to replace the truck frame. afte many months of being without a vehicle and dozens of phone calls . i was able to get it partially fixed. so at least i can drive it. but still will not pass inspection.to date i have spent 3,411.37. i feel bob adams should replace this vehicle . it should have never been sold let alone pass inspection (twice). they hid the frame damage when it was under warranty. so at the very least they should pay for the pay repairs. i have photos and statements from other garages.
