On 10/20/22, I booked Chateau La Mer for my wedding on 9/29/24. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, multiple medical reasons, cancer, deaths I had to cancel with them in May 2023. I did give them 16 months notice of cancellation, and as per ************** law in Suffolk county, as long as I give six months notice, I am entitled to a full refund. It is now December 2023, and I have not gotten my refund. My contract number is ****, and Ive been in touch with ******. ****** advises that I get no refund unless the date is resold, but this is going against **************, Suffolk county law. I gave ample time and ample notice of cancellation. In total, I paid Chteau La Mer $5450. I am entitled to that entire refund according to the law. My fianc has had three surgeries in six months, during his last surgery his grandmother died, his father is dying and his mother has cancer. I am in compliance with the law, and also asking for just a little compassion from the venue. They are going against the law, and showed no compassion at all for our circumstances. I have given way more than ample notice. And just want whats owed to me. Thank you.Customer response
