A lawsuit waiting to happen.I purchased from PetCareRx once on 8/16/23. I got an order confirmation email. Between 8/16 and 8/18, I also got 6 more promotional emails in addition to 2 order update emails. On 8/18 I also got an email about the benefits of PetPlus. It didn't say anything about it being an annually reoccurring membership with a fee or how much the plan costs. I don't remember signing up for it and it's not mentioned in the order specific emails. I was never charged any original membership fee with my first order. I didn't think anything of it because they were spamming my inbox so much. Because "PetPlus" and "PetCare" look so similar in a sea of other emails, I just generalized it all as promotional emails from this company. I unsubscribed from their emails shortly and never got any other emails about PetPlus.A year later I got a new charge of $54.86 from PetCareRx. I was confused. I didn't have any new emails from them. I logged into the website and didn't see any new orders. There were no messages or notifications explaining why they had charged me. I even checked three places on their website (orders, autoship, and refills) but there was no new activity. So I marked it as fraud. But I kept wondering why they charged me. Only now after reading about other customers' complaints am I realizing that they had probably set me up with a membership that I never even understood the terms of. Maybe I did check some box last year signing up for PetPlus but it was not clear. They have changed the website for new customers since I first purchased. But for past customers they have intentionally made it very obscure via emails that this is a paid membership that auto-renews. If companies can spam us with 2 marketing emails every day, how hard is it for them to send one clear email explaining what a membership fee will be? They're not being lazy - they're just defrauding customers.
