      I had a life insurance policy with Equitable. I cancelled it on 09/10/2024. To date, 11/7/2024, I have received NO cash surrender funds. I have called them 10+ times and been told every excuse in the book. For some reason they are refusing to send my funds. I see the reviews on here, and I'm totally worried I'm going to be stiffed and receive nothing. I wouldn't recommend this company to my worst enemy. BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY AND DON'T RISK YOUR MONEY WITH THEM WHATSOEVER!!!!!!!!!

      Company doesnt even deserve 1 star . Iam making formal complaint. No one is on one accord. Advisors are the worst . They do not know what they be talking about ever they all give wrong info. My mom passed 4 months ago tomorrow and company still hasnt processed claim. Worst customer service ever they all need more training even the supervisors. During a hard time losing a parent this company does give a sense of security.. I do NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE GET LIFE INSURANCE WITH THEM !

      Trying to withdraw money from an annuity for 4 weeks. The financial advisor is assisting but there is only so much he can do. They are giving us the run around and despite acknowledging to the advisor that they have received all the necessary paperwork they still haven’t sent the check. Worst service and financial performance from a financial services company in my 40 years of investing.

      They have the worse advisors. I find they dont treat and give all customer accounts the same amount of attention based on how much money you have in your account. My advisor hung up in my face when I was trying to talk about future plans with my account and finances. I felt like I wasnt worthy of being on a phone call with. They hung up and never called me back or responded to my follow up email about the lost connection . They waited a couple days later to acknowledge them ending the call. I thought this company would help with financial advisement but they dont at all. They disregard certain customers & accounts.

      The absolute worst financial service company EVER! The representatives are useless, the forms are cumbersome, no two financial experts can agree on the guidelines/accessibility to funds, and the company wants its clients to seek approval from God before they will consider releasing any funds. Please do not make the same rookie mistake I did. Find another company to secure your investments!

      Let me first say, I was required to pick at least 1 star for this review. This financial services company is the worst of the worst! was recently appointed guardian and conservator for an incapacitated relative by way of a court order. I sent Equitable my court documents which included the letter of qualification, court order and medical evaluation for the client's annuity. That was back on 8/2/2024 and these people have been giving me the complete run around almost daily. They initially told me 10 business days to approve the paperwork. I've been told by 2 different people that the docs were already approved; but as recently as today was told; the paperwork was still being "processed". The customer service ***** doesn't have an understanding of conservatorship versus power of attorney, nor do they have paperwork to support it. This company is very poorly run and possibly even a "ponzi" scheme in my opinion. I'm concerned that my relative's money only exists on "paper" and we'll never get access to these funds to take care of his long-term medical care & needs. Whenever I call, I speak to what seems to be a 3rd party vendor call center overseas. These people can only give you "canned" responses and they're trained in giving you the complete runaround in a very remedial way. I'm confident that the only way we'll get some sort of resolution is by way of legal action against the company. If I can ever get control of this annuity it will be transferred expeditiously to a reputable financial services company. This feels way too much like an "American Greed" episode just waiting to happen.

      I want to thank BBB for posting this warning on their information page about Equitable: -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Current Alerts For ************************ Action: BBB reports on known government actions involving business marketplace conduct: Equitable Financial To Pay $50 Million Penalty To Settle SEC Charges That It Provided Misleading Account Statements to Investors.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------After having a life insurance policy with Equitable for 66+ years I am finding that they are avoiding my questions about how the cost basis of the policy was calculated. Equitable may have been in business for 165 years but from my recent experience they don't deserve any future business for anything. AVOID THIS COMPANY!!!

      This company is a SCAM!!! The good review I would bet was left by an employee and should be researched! They also do dental insurance and it's a 100 percent SCAM!! I went to the dentist, and with there program they have to pre approve anything done which has been since October of last year for me and still no response. My dentist had never heard of them and told me after multiple attempts at reaching out from there office it was likely a scam! Please don't make the mistake I did and give these cons any of your money!

      My rating would be MUCH lower than 1 star if the option were available! I had an Equitable ****************** *** account with a balance of several hundred thousand dollars. With RMD withdrawals required by the **** I have periodically requested QCDs. On April 5th I submitted 3 QCD requests totaling less than $3K. After the first two were processed, my account balance declined by more than $300K. The third QCD, processed April 8th, resulted in my balance going negative, but a check was still cut. BTW, one of the checks was issued to the wrong payee (sloppy). I monitor my accounts daily, recorded the balance discrepancy and notified my very competent financial advisor who immediately began pursuing action to have the balance restored. In parallel, I attempted to work with Equitables offshore customer service org (totally inept). These reps have a poor command of English, lack access to the data and tools to do their job and were either unable or unwilling to forward my calls to an empowered person at Equitable who could actually address my issue. My financial advisor, working though his Equitable contacts, also hit a brick wall. He was told the cause was an IT issue and was being handled as a top priority. Data was promised but never delivered; established deadlines were never met. My account was virtually frozen for over 4 weeks before the correct (?) balance was restored. Throughout I as the contract owner NEVER received any communications from Equitable acknowledging the issue and disclosing the root cause. They were completely non-transparent. Similarly, the updates my financial advisor received from Equitable were unhelpful. We still have no knowledge of the issues root cause. I can only wonder if any other contract owners were similarly impacted. I encourage any Equitable clients to continually monitor their accounts. My contract has matured and the funds were moved to another firm since I no longer trust Equitable's financial ethics.

      I started a 403b plan 12 years ago in one school district and have been trying off and on for TEN YEARS to roll over these funds into my current plan in another school district. I have only been put on hold and transferred around, and told again and again to download the forms again and fill them out again, and get all the signatures from both the districts AGAIN more than five times now. I finally got help from a representative from another company in my other school district who helped me make sure I did everything correctly this time and I just received another letter today rejecting my attempt again because apparently the download of my paperwork is time sensitive and it didn't all get through in that time frame. I just waited for a representative to pick up my call for 30 minutes, and tried chatting on the site but no one is connecting. This is ridiculous. My husband's experiences with other companies have been very quick and easy. I will never work with Equitable again and I will let both districts know of my experience in the hopes that they will choose other companies to work with.
