I hired Travis James of James electric to do work on my home on December 2nd 2022. He was to change out all outlets and switches put in two vents and bathrooms, put up ceiling fans and lights and hardwire 2 dishwashers. I paid him $3,500 and he did barely half of the work that he was supposed to do. The very first day he showed up I told him I felt like I was being ripped off. Because he was supposed to do both sides of the home not just one. And even in his quote he states that he's putting in dishwasher lines and two vents for bathrooms, which is two different parts of the house. He lied and said that he was never shown the other side of the house when he most certainly was. One of the outlets that he supposedly replaced did not work. And the one dishwasher line wasn't hooked to anything in the panel box. It was just a wire dangling through the kitchen floor. I tried to text him and realized he blocked my number. I found him on ******** and told him the outlet didn't work and he said he checked all the outlets before he left and they were in working order which is a lie because if he did he would have known that it didn't work. He then blocked me on ********.Business response

To whom it may concern, I am writing this email in response to a letter I received from your office regarding a complaint filed against my business. I have been in business for over 10 years and have never received a complaint to your bureau before. My electrical company is also top rated in my area on ******. I did work on the complaint’s home on December 2, 2022. The total was $3500 to completely go through the unoccupied duplex. Originally I was dealing with her son because she was not there. I told her son that the job was for the unoccupied part of the property. As usual we got 50% down and 50% upon completion. We did a fantastic job for her, although the job changed several times. We ran the circuits for her and did not hook up the appliances because the appliances were not on site. The bathroom ceiling fans got removed from the job because of other various reasons. We updated all of the outlets in the interior of the house and switches along with lighting. The job was to her satisfaction. That is why we were paid the additional 50% what was left as a result. From my experience, the client will not pay you over a thousand dollars if they are dissatisfied with the job you provided, however this was not the case. The client paid in full and we went our separate ways. When the client reached out several months later, about an outlet that wasn’t working, I explained to her that I would have to charge her for the service as the outlets we’re all tested and were in good working order when we left originally. I was not willing to go over there and not charge her, so there was an argument involved. In my humble opinion, this is retaliatory for not providing her with a free service. My company strives for customer service at all times. Thank you for your attention in this matter.Respectfully;Travis James-owner James Electric--Respectfully,Travis JamesOwnerJames Electric20 Eddie DrivePlattsburgh, N.Y. 12901
