Siding contract was dated 4/12/22 since then we’ve had nothing but issues regarding our installation and when we paid the balance in cash our issues were never resolved. For about 1 year now our sliding screen door has still not been replaced as promised and now for at least a month that I have noticed, my house has water damage due to not properly installing the wraps around an exterior window. We’ve had to file an insurance claim as well as get other businesses to tell me what was causing the water issue. We’ve called and spoke with a woman who was in an office and said she would have one of the managers “John” call us back never heard from anyone.Business response

New windows were put in before siding was applied. So yes the installer for the siding did not properly install wrap around windows and did not caulk where needed. I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. Regards, ***** *****Initial Complaint

Being scammed . I initially contacted company about 4 years back to come take a look at my roof that was leaking around my chimney after wind stormThey have come back every year for the same issue and charged me every time. They were here in February 2023 and August 2023 . The issue is actually way worse and back again . I called the office on Monday spoke to the office woman. I let her know that I left a voicemail on Sunday and that I had asked that somebody call me back. I got a text message from John on somebody asking if I needed someone to come out on Monday. My response to him was yes however, I would like to speak to the owner first, because this keeps happening every year and this is not normal. You guys are coming back for the same repair and still charging me, please let me know your availability and I will just my work schedule. He never got back to me never text back to me. I even followed up with a text and a phone call five hours later and still nothing. That Monday I called and the lady in the office said that John said he asked me if I needed someone to come out and I told him no .I have the text history and I absolutely told him I need someone to come out. I told her maybe he had the wrong number. I also asked her if I could please have the owners call me,that I am concerned about what is going on in my roof. and they have been back so many times for the same issue and they keep charging me I really want to speak to somebody, I also sent an email that has went in responded to. She asked me who it was in regards to and I said well that’s what I want to speak to them about is maybe it’s beyond the scope of the person that is coming to take care of my roof. I still have yet to receive any type of phone call or from the owners as of 1/31. I did have Sam call me who was initially the person who did my roof and I really am not comfortable having Sam come back so I am holding off on this. I did however have two other companies come and give me your professional opinion, and basically showed me what was done on my roof as far as a repair, and that the bare minimum he did not flash properly around my chimney where the leak is . He only did one side . He put some tar many times as the fix and added some asphalt shingles . They did not flash properly around the chimney nor when he replaced the shingles lay them correctly. I was told they should have replaced the ice barrier. Took all of the old flashing off and then flashed the entire chimney correctly. I would like a refund of some of my money to correctly have the repair done .Business response

1st trip seal around chimney, inspect flashings, light and seal nails etc.. 2nd trip remove shingles along left side of chimney, new ice and water shield, lay into sealant and reinstall all. Moisture meter read less that 2 % on ceiling. No evidence of dripping or leaking in home, just a stained ceiling. No evidence of leaking into attic, no stains or wet wood below the decking. Customer stated her husband saw no leaking, staining or water when he crawled into attic to look. She conveyed this to me when talking with her after she called office and complained. Chimney has been previously worked on, all the joints are sealed with looks like silicone or Geocel. Was going to go out at no charge and look at it again, I wanted to take pictures in attic and had appointment to do so on Friday 2-2-2024. Owner canceled and stated we she wanted her money back. There was no paper work, just verbal. No guarantee or warranty was implied. We would provide one if she had entire section done along with new chimney flashing. She stated she wants her money back. The latest repair was done in September of 2023. I am sorry to hear she is upset. She is a very nice young lady. We did our best and did not take advantage of her. I believe the entire cost was $275.00Customer response

In your response to me, I paid you more than what you specified and I have the transactions to prove it the first time you guys came out. I paid around $300 and some change.. I done made $100 payment for $175 payment and another $100 payment to you. I do not want all my money back, but I do feel a portion of it should be sent back to me because the work was not done correctly. The flashing needed to be around my entire chimney in the flashing was not done around my entire chimney. I have had several contractors come out to look at what was gone and when they showed me pictures, I was shocked, it is not normal to keep calling your company back. This would’ve been the fifth time I would’ve been reaching out for the repair. I was told that you guys should’ve removed all the old flashing and then put new flashing all the way around my chimney that was not done. I was also told you guys should have took up the asphalt tiles that put new barrier down and then flashed and reapplied The shingles. Not once at all with anyone came did they ask to go up in my attic to see where the leak was actually coming from. You were the professionals that I am calling and you should’ve took the steps to diagnose this properly and if those stress were taken, then you could have seen where the leak was actually coming from which I know now I am basically disappointed because I was told that basically very cheap material was used. The bare minimum was drawn to actually remedy the issue and basically putting tar over tar is not gonna fix my issue which has been done every time I called you guys out. . The only positive thing I can say, is that the guy who I had come out is very nice and this is not personal. I just don’t know if this is beyond his scope and he should’ve done his due diligence when in my attic and actually saw that the leaf was coming through the brick on the chimney.. I feel that him not looking at that you guys just kept coming back saying you’re fixing stuff that never fixed it so at this point I do want a portion of my money back I have to still pay to get this done correctlyInitial Complaint

I got a full tear off and roof replacement from Todd in 2017. Back in November of 2021 I noticed a small leak in the kitchen ceiling which has continued to grow. I called Todd multiple times before getting a response through one of his workers named Sam. Sam came out and checked on the leak and did some work to the roof which he thought would rectify the problem. A few weeks later the weather started to warm up and the roof began leaking again so I called sam to come back and take another look. They tried blaming a plumbing issue and multiple other things including a pipe on the roof that he thought might be collecting water and leaking into the house. They charged me to fix the pipe claiming that it wasn’t covered under the roof warranty. Even after putting a housing on the pipe I continued to have leaking every time it rained. Todd refuses to answer my calls and now Sam will no longer answer me either. I was told they will not cut into the ceiling to see where the leak is coming from and I have to hire a plumber and prove to them it’s a roof issue for him to come back. I have since hired a plumber and a home inspector to come look at the issue and both determined it is not a plumbing issue but rather a leak somewhere in the roof. I explained this to sam and still have received no response. It’s been months of the roof leaking every time it rains. I have videos and pictures od the water which I continue to send to them and all my messages go unanswered.Business response

Roof was installed in 2015 (not 2017) and according to all manufacturer's and original contract specifications. This roof has been inspected serval times last fall by our service tech who has 40+ years of roofing experience. He could find no issue with the roof or the installation and we can not even determine that the ceiling damage is occurring from rain/roof leaking. The only roof penetration through this area on the roof is an old plumbing pipe stack. Looking down into the pipe we can see light/cracking and possible deterioration in the pipe itself. We did put a cap on this plumbing stack hoping that would fix the problem. It's just a cover, it does not completely cap off the pipe from the rain (it can not be completely capped off due to ventilation required). Also, there is plumbing and possibly a bathtub right above this area of the leak. We instructed the homeowner that a small area of the ceiling will have to be cut out to see where the water is coming from. If this was not done we don't know how the plumber would determine this is a roof leak. We believe this leak is coming from a plumbing issue and/or most likely from the old plumbing stack in this area. If it was a roof leak we believe it would not take almost 7 years after installation to show up.

Better Business Bureau: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. As previously stated, I did get a plumber out to look at the main water connection upstairs and run the water in the sink/tub which did not cause any kind of leak. I believe based on the visit from The home inspector (in which he further opened the ceiling) that this issue is somehow related to the cast-iron pipe that is protruding through the roofing. However, this pipe was there when the roof was initially torn off and reinstalled. how is Care of this not considered part of the Roofing job when they have to place new board and shingles around it?I contacted Todd’s company Inquiring why there was no boot put on this pipe as I have seen in other roofing jobs. They were willing to come out and look at the pipe initially and I worked with them even paying to have a cover placed over the top of the pipe but since the fix wasn’t that easy now he is refusing to come out and look at the issue any further. I don’t even get the courtesy of a response. I have offered to pay for whatever parts need to be purchased. Further, in order To properly install the boot around this pipe it is required to lift shingles. if I hire another company to do that would it not void my roof warranty with Todd? These are questions that I believe should be answered before the case is closed. A lot of thaw and freeze can happen over the course of seven years to cause an issue like this to happen. Better Business Bureau: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. The contractor did come out and complete additional work around the pipe. Since it’s been done there has been two instances of heavy rain and then snow thawing that would normally cause leaking in the past but with the new work it seems this is no longer an issue. I have not noticed any moisture at all in the area and I’m very happy with the work done to correct this. Now we just have to work out fixing the interior damage to the ceiling caused by the previous leak. The roofer who came to my house told me to wait a few weeks see if there is any sign of leaking and if not we can start discussion on the ceiling repair. ******** *****Business response

Our service tech is going to contact ******** today to come up with a plan to repair the ceiling (interior damage). We do not have drywall/painters on staff (we are roofing and siding contractors). We are going to give ******** the option to get an estimate and get the work completed which will be paid for by us. Or we will get an interior contractor to do the repairs/painting required.
