****** ****** contacted me with a estimate for a bathroom remodel ...remove old shower door reinstal new shower door remove old linoleum and dispose reinstall new linoleum estimate $1475. 9/20/23 deposit required to confirm project $885. he signed the estimate stating recieved $885 via check on 9/20/23 tentative start date 9/25 since then he has not answered my phone calls but has sent emails explaining delays to starting the project sick one week then just vague issues arose and things just kept getting backed up on 10/16/23 he sent a email stating "I'm very sorry. I can't keep putting you off any longer. I know it's frustrating to you and it's stressing me out as well. I will send a refund check this week." last email was 11/2/23 stating sending out on Saturday 11/4/23 I still have not received to date 11/10/23. I ******* him and found a complaint on **** **** from **** ******* ******* **** ** stating: ****** ******: hired him to repair my shed, gave him a deposit and he never started the job and will not give my deposit back. I’m taking him to small claims court so beware of this thief. I wish I had seen this before I hired him!Initial Complaint

Contracted with Voss & Co. llc/ ****** ** ***** on 15-18 October 2022 to provide and install a new garage door and garage door opener at my rental property. Pd Mr. ***** $1,300 cash deposit for materials which he signed for on 18 October. To date Mr. ***** has not purchased materials or performed any work. I’ve contacted Mr. ***** via text multiple times to complete the contracted services. Finally Mr. ***** acknowledge he is unable to complete the contract. On 19 July 2023 he agreed to refund my $1,300 deposit. Didn’t happen. Since, I have repeatedly requested my refund which he always agrees to do but to date (24 September) he has not provided. I’ve sent via certified mail a Payment Demand Letter on 8 September 2023. Still limited communication via text but no progress on getting my refund.Initial Complaint

I hired Derrick Often owner of Voss & Co. to replace garage doors and two entry doors in our home. He completed the garage doors but has not completed the rest. He was paid $938 for goods and services he failed to provide. I have contacted him MANY, MANY times and he always has an excuse for not refunding the money. He does not respond to text messages, does not return phone calls and has changed all his email addresses. He is a THIEF and BELONGS IN JAIL!Initial Complaint

Paid $440 on 2/2/22 as a 50% deposit on work to be done, signed a contract. Derick never came back to do the work, and has not returned the deposit, in spite of my getting in touch multiple times to request the money. This is the second job we hired him for. He completed the first job later than anticipated but we were pleased with the work.Initial Complaint

Dates and amount of transaction: 7/17/2021: $4,182 down payment for purchase and installation of storm shutters. 8/31/2021: 2,230 for purchase and installation of storm doors. Work was promised for Sept-Oct 2021. Delayed to spring 2022, blaming problems due to covid. Email 3/3/2022: Stated he would complete the work in mid-April, 2022. Contract #* Email 4/27/2022: Stated he would complete the work around May 18, 2022. Contract #*. Since 4/27/2022: No work done. No emails or phone calls have been answered. Incorrect garage door opener installed in April 2020. A 3/4 horse power wi-fi enabled opener was suggested during email exchanges when I stated the kind of garage door opener I wanted. When I tried to connect the opener with the app on my phone the next day and it could not, I checked the manual and discovered it was not the opener that was recommended. I contacted Mr. O**** right away and told him the wrong opener had been installed. He told me that he would at my home the following week to install a wi-fi adapter. As of the date of this complaint and in spite of many emails and text messages, he has not scheduled a time or date to remedy the problem. It's over two months after the garage door opener was installed. In fact, during one of my exchanges with Mr. O****, he admitted that he didn't check the box of the opener he purchased to make sure it was wi-fi enabled. I have always had to contact him since the incorrect opener was installed and he's never been forth coming as to why he never got in touch to schedule a time to install the adapter for the opener the week after. In one text message he sent a short sentence that he had some set backs. That was it. He keeps promising to fix the issue and has not delivered 2 months later. In fact in one of my text messages to him I mentioned that if the issue had not been resolved by June 1st, I would consider actions to get him to fix the issue. It is now June 27, 2020 and I'm still waiting.Initial Complaint

Ordered new garage door w grills in July 2021, paid half ($1083). Garage doors installed Sept 2021 but window grills not in yet, paid full balance. Garage doors began to squeal horribly, Took weeks to get a response, finally sent someone, doors still squealing weeks later. No responses to texts and calls, except one which implied he was having mental health issues, no longer answers any calls/texts. I just want the window grills I paid for, will install myself.Initial Complaint

On Sept. 12, 2021 Voss and Company sent a man to give an estimate on a new single wide garage door. We settled on a price of $1273.00 and I gave the man a check for that amount. He cashed it right away. It was to cover new door, hardware, disposal of old door and installation according to the receipt. I waited two or so weeks and tried to email to see if the door would be installed anytime soon. I received a message that my email had been blocked by the server. I am old, handicapped and was very recently widowed and did not know how to text. I called the number several times with no response until late October when he must have accidentally picked up. He seemed surprised said he was driving, had me scheduled for the following week and said when he parked he would call me back. He never did. I tried several times….no response. Never heard from him at all in November. In the middle of December I had someone show me how to text. I asked about the door. He sent a bunch of texts back that made no sense but boiled down to he might get to it the next year…… even my son couldn’t figure out what he was trying to say. I told him we needed the door before winter set in but no response except whining about his personal problems. I want a return of the entire amount as I still have no access to the garage.Initial Complaint

On July 26, 2021 I decided to purchase a retractable patio awning from this contractor. It had to be custom ordered to my dimensions. Paid 50% as a deposit which was $2,100 and was promised the install would happen in 60 days. I followed up on 8/29/21 and was told it would be installed on 9/29, then on 10/20 was told 11/15, then on 11/18 I followed up again multiple times and he has not responded in a timely manner with any resolution or timeline. At this point I just want a refund or would prefer another vendor do the install.
