We renovated our house in 2023. Our general contractor recommended the business to us for outside masonry work. We met with the owner periodically during the course of the work and separately contracted with him for additional landscaping and masonry work. We were generally very happy with his work. After his work was completed, we asked him to clean out the sewer in our driveway as the work he had done had caused considerable debris to go into the sewer. He said he would take care of it. He also offered to do a little remedial landscaping on our lawn where many small rocks from the soil he had used had accumulated and drifted on an incline. Then, in April, we showed the owner that one of the approximately 15 ***************** he had planted had suddenly died, only six months after planting. All the others seemed fine. He agreed it was dead, but he didn't know why and, initially, blamed us for not watering properly. After some back and forth, he agreed to replace the one *******************, despite denying that he had verbally guaranteed *********** to my wife for one year. He promised to take care of all the items verbally and then in several texts, but never showed up to do the work. He also didn't respond as to when he would do the work. Since then he has ignored numerous texts and voicemails I have left him for the past two months.Business response

Upon our meeting on May 30th 2024, I stated that I will replace the ******************* and clean the little rocks from runoff on the hill. This is a courtesy, since our policy is that plantings are not warrantied without a sprinkler system. This is also industry standards. Summer came upon us and planting and lawn repair could not be done in the hot summer months. I replied to **************** several times, there was no need for him to keep checking up on me throughout the summer. We will replace the planting and repairing the lawn on the hill this fall, since our supplier will be getting new inventory in September. Thank you!

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ********, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:[Your Answer Here]I am pleased that ******* said he would replace the ******************* and repair the loose rocks in the fall. This is the first I have heard that. My efforts to get that information had been unsuccessful until I filed this complaint. However, he did not say that he would clean out the drain from the debris, which occurred during the original work, and which he promised to do many months ago. If all three of those items are taken care of in the fall, that will be fine, but I would like to be given some advance notice from him, as we get into the fall, when he plans to schedule the work. I assume he would want to take care of all three on the same day, if possible.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me and the matter has been resolved.The above complaint was closed by BBB in September without being resolved.
On October 25, 2024, the repairs were made and the issue can now be marked resolved.
