pick up was 8/30/22 drop off was 9/16/22 Job # ****** Overcharged. Estimate went from $4381.08 to $4597.96 then suddenly $5727.15. Every fee suddenly increased from pickup fee to delivery fee to fuel surcharge to weight. Charged for materials that were not used. Lied to continually when they were caught. Lowered the price at delivery, not enough, but I needed to get my things back. Found out in addition to overcharges, toolbox was broken and most of the tools missing along with one other box missing. Lied to more by owner and basically said it was too bad about the toolbox you signed for it. Offered nothing but lies and denial and an insulting $168 for the overcharges and broken, missing items. I already filed complaints for reasonable compensation. He refuses.Business response

We are in receipt of the above mentioned complaint which was filed on 9/20/22.
This complaint was e mailed to us on 10/28/22 and would like to respond with the following.
On 9/29/22 **************************, President of Men on the Move wrote to **************** explaining that
when they spoke on 9/19/22 they discussed the stolen tools. At that time ************** said that *** ********************* to get a Police Report as we take this very seriously. ******** member that **************** did not like has
been employed by Men on the Move for over 30 years and has nothing but good reviews. ************** also mentioned
that sometimes people just dont click.
************** did say that **************** was due $168.00. We are awaiting *** ******* response so that they
agree and we can remit payment. To date there has been no response from ***************** We want to put this to
rest.
On the phone ************** said he wants to make **************** happy in the end. **************** suggested that we should
reduce the bill to $1,600.00. ************** asked how **************** arrived at this amount but he could not furnish a
response. ************** asked that he should take his time and put it in writing. Again, we have not heard back from
*****************
We find this claim to be unfair and unnecessary as weve made attempts to satisfy the customer.
Thanking you for your time.
Best,

Better Business Bureau:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ********, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:[Your Answer Here]
This is not resolved. This company and especially ******************* has no intention of resolving this. Just about everything they state is a lie. First, they mention a crew member, ******, that "I did not like" and that we "didn't click". This is a complete misdirection and lie. I never even mentioned that. I got along with him fine. A couple of weeks later ***** saw that he tried to defraud me by charging me for extra materials that didn't exist, that's what I have a problem with. I had 2 beds, charged for six boxes, 4 framed things charged for 6 boxes when 2 were used. All the other charges also magically increased. The proof is in the emails from ******* who explicitly states ****** told him they used extra boxes. When my belongings arrived, none of these extra materials I was charged for existed.
I spoke to ******************* on the phone twice. Twice he was rude, unprofessional and belligerent. Twice he hung up on me. He told me point blank too bad about the tools, you signed for your things. A police report does nothing, he knows that. I explicitly told him why I wanted the bill reduced to what I asked for. He explicitly told me on the phone whatever I put in writing he would reject. He then immediately hung up on me. His claim that he asked why I came to the refund amount and I did not answer is a lie, like everything else. This is a man who attempted to make a fake 5 star review on **** for himself. I will include a screenshot of an email he sent with the fake review. When you go on the site you can see it was removed. You can also see quite a lot of recent 1 star reviews because of their underhanded business practices.
******************* pretends that refunding $168 is a positive. There is a regulation where they can only charge 10% over the estimate. They overcharged me MUCH more in addition to the stolen items. His offering to refund me the $168 is simply him overcharging me the most he thinks he can get away with. He has told me explicitly that he doesn't care and will reject everything but his fake offer, so why would I respond to someone so dishonest as this? They are liars and thieves. Don't take my word for it, go to the **** reviews, sort by most recent, and see what they do to people because they know certain laws are set up so they can get away with it. They made no real attempt to resolve this and it is not resolved in the slightest as they continue to lie.
In order for the BBB to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above.
Sincerely,
***********************
