Hello, we hired surface innovations to fix and stamp our front porch. They came out in October of 2021 and fixed the cracks. They proceeded to tell me they would be back the next week to finish. They didn’t come back, after telling me multiple times they would be out they stopped responding. They took my deposit for the work.Initial Complaint

I asked for an estimate from Surface Innovations on August 18th, 2021. The owner **** came to my house and explained the process, work involved, and sent estimate. I agreed and hired him, paid half down deposit ($3333.05) and waited for next steps. **** promises color boards to review and stated they would replace my countertops in late September as it was a small job. After multiple late responses (by days and weeks in some cases) **** stated they were behind and that I was on the schedule for early to mid October. This never happened and finally on November 18th **** and one of his employees came to my home to do a stencil and measure. At this time he still did not provide color boards as promised. He stated that he “promised the job would be complete prior to Christmas” as I requested after expressing concern and asking for better communication. As of today 12/9/2021 I have had no further contact. I have sent messages this week on Monday 12/6/2021, Tuesday 12/7/2021 asking for a refund of my deposit, and this morning 12/9/2021 again. I have had no response to texts, calls, voicemails, or emails sent. I am requesting my money back as I feel this is fraudulent business and there is a consistent history of poor communication and a complete waste of my time.Customer response

Hi there,
I need to close this complaint as the business owner contacted me directly. He is stating that he has spent my deposit on materials and intends to do the work next week.
I will re-visit if that doesn’t happen or if he refuses to refund my money after a lack of followthrough.
