  I went as a new patient to Amherst Dental Assoc. I had an exam and the dentist wanted to replace top front teeth with crowns. The lady handling insurance/billing came into the exam room to go over the cost. At this appointment i was told I would owe NO MORE than $500 in total. I said ok and scheduled the appointment for the following week. Upon leaving I stopped on my way out to make a payment and I was told since I had duel coverage (my employer and my husband) I would NOT OWE ANYTHING. I asked are you sure and she said yes. The Dentist was right behind showing everyone the pre and post pictures of my front teeth. Since then I have received 3 invoices and called each time explaining the situation. Each time I am told they will look into it and the last time that they would speak to the dentist about what to do. My bill after they deducted a $400 courtesy credit is $2218.20. I do not owe this based on their billing department telling me first i would not owe more that $500 and then after treatment telling me i would owe nothing and declining my offer to make a payment because it would be ,much harder for them to refund. I am refusing to pay this billed based on the information given to me by the professional person in their billing department twice.

  Business states this is incorrect, we never tell anyone they will not be billed anything else, We tell customers this is what you owe today and we will bill the rest.  In this case the customer's insurance has denied and we are still fighting with the insurance company to get those denials paid.  Customer can wait for an updated bill as we are still trying to get those paid.
