On June 19, 2024 my transmission blew in m y 2018 Dodge Grand Caravan SXT with roughly 162,000 miles, at which time, I got the vehicle towed to my home in Bedford and filed a comprehensive claim #********** with Allstate, as I was looking to get help with the repairs. In the past, I have used Crash Champions for claims and decided to send my vehicle to them for inspection. Crash Champions was unable to do mechanical work. At which time they referred me to Matlin's Transmission in Aurora, Oh. Matlin's owner **** was made aware by this writer that the transmission had blown and needed an inspection for a comprehensive claim. They accepted the vehicle first week of July, about 7/3 but stated they could not get to the inspection until 7/19/24. **** acclaims to have had the quote completed 07/15. The claim was denied 07/30 by Allstate, after **** quoted $5,032.21. I picked up a tangible copy of this quote and took a photo of it and submitted it to claims myself 7/19. I called **** to tell him the claim was denied and continued conversation by informing him that I was sending a tow, which he acknowledges. The tow company Always Towing, called me exclaiming that the shop refused to release the vehicle to which he (****) says for the first time I owe him $100.00 for a "holding fee". This was never discussed or written down with my signature, or listed on a website, anything. He starts yelling that I give him a credit card number over the phone, which I declined, I didn't feel comfortable. I asked Allstate if I owed any money to the shop, they said no deductible was required because no work was completed. I verbally agreed to pay $100.00 8/2. I arrive 8/2 to a shop closed during business hours, with no communication to myself and my van blocked in by other cars. This business has no voicemail box. I called today, 8/15 saying I will come 8/17 with $100.00 **** is yelling that I have always owed 149.?? and threatens to add 50.00 every day. We have no documents to support this.

I did speak to ****** in the month of June about her Dodge Grand Caravan having a transmission problem and her insurance company is involved so it was brought to the shop in the beginning of July and I confirmed it was a transmission failure and had asked if she had hit anything underneath to damage the transmission and her answer was no.  But we are involving an insurance co. that is used for collision and she had a claim number started with Allstate.

So I put together a estimate and emailed it to Allstate and they didn't respond to her in a timely manner so she got involved with them and Allstate sent and adjuster out to see the van so we had to have it on a lift for them to check for damage and there isn't any so the claim was denied which was a good call by Allstate.       Now that the burden of repair falls on ****** she wants to remove the car which I'm totally fine with but there in a 1 hour labor fee that needs to be paid before the car is released.

My labor rate is  $140. Per hour.   Where she came up with $ 100 I have no idea.

But she is fully aware of the car storage that started on 8/19/2024 @ $ 50 per day.     So I think ****** is really confused about the way car insurance works  and repair shops work.

So at the point the $ 149.80 stands and must be paid in cash. And the storage is adding up as well.     Thank you.

I am rejecting this response because: We have no agreements to any payments outside of the verbal agreement of $100.00 after he brought it up last minute as the tow was present. Please provide all signed documents and receipts binding me to anything outside of the $100.00 I verbally agreed to. All that had been provided to me was an estimate for the insurance claim which I never said was in a collision. It will be provided. Please locate on this estimate any information regarding sudden and/ or increased charges after a denied insurance claim.

****** has a problem with assuming.

Assuming the car insurance company was going to buy her a transmission.

Assuming there isnt a labor and diagnosis charge.

Assuming I'm not adding up the storage fees.

Assuming I'm not going to file for title of her vehicle.
