I contracted with Five Star Painting/Matt A**, to paint the exterior wood trim of my Home on 04-24-24. I made a Deposit of $595.01 on April 25th, 2024. They were not able to paint until May 29th, I believe, due to frequent rainy days. Christen, Office Rep, called me on that day, and said that Matt was coming with Painters. I asked if they were going to power wash the house?, and he said it wasn't needed. It was agreed upon in the contract ( to remove dirt, mildew, cobwebs and other debris to allow for proper paint adhesion and expose areas needed for scraping) Matt said they were only going to power wash the deck, but I understood it would be for all the wood trim. I had a Dr. appt & had trouble getting transportation. I appreciated Matt offering to drop me off, as he had to go to Sherwin Williams for paint. when I came home, the 2 painters were painting the front shutters, and posts, & front wood trim. They appeared to be taking their time & doing a good job. I was told that they would be back the next week, to do back of house. When I had a chance to look at the painted areas, I was extremely disappointed and upset, to observe that the posts were rough to the touch, and previous peeling areas were all showing, as if they had not been properly scraped and sanded. I am not sure if 2 coats were applied and Best Paint was used, as some gal, cans had labels in Spanish. This wasalso evident on upper frame work of posts, and upper frame of garage. My Invoice of entire painting job was $2133.36.Customer response

Regards,
******** ******On 06-07-24, the Owner's Daughter came to discuss my concerns. She said that the Painters had been given scrubbing sponges, and they were all used. She offered for the Painters to apply clear Primer to previously peeled areas, and repaint the posts. We had an amicable discussion regarding my concerns. She said that the painters could sand with a machine, on the deck and doors, prior to painting. --that the doors would be scraped and caulked if needed. The sanding would be a better alternative to the powerwashing. On Friday, June 14th, Matt and 3 Painters came, and we went over what was to be done, to finish project. They were all very courteous, and friendly. The posts were sanded, and primed where needed, and repainted. The Painter showed me how smooth , after sanding (1 area). They looked much better, and felt smoother. The Vent frames on the gables were painted the accent color of the shutters. The deck was sanded with an electric hand sander, and 2 coats applied to deck and posts. The painters painted beautifully, and got into all the board openings. The doors were all scraped and primed, and 2 coats white paint applied. I was extremely pleased with all of their work, and thanked them several times, along with a plate of cookies! Their work was absolutely beautiful! Sincerely, ******** ****** ID # ********
