I had new windows installed over a month ago, and waiting on siding and soffit replacement to complete the job. Zero contact from Universal Windows in timeline or if it will be completed. They have not answered customer service calls and have not returned several messages. They collected 100% of the money owed and I am left with an incomplete job.Universal Windows Direct Response

I had windows replaced in my sunroom and kitchen back in March 2024. At that point there was already misinformation, confusion with the installers and questionable installation. Not what was told to me when I signed the contract for the Windows. The window installation is OK, just OK. A month after the installation a golf ball hit my window and broke it. That was in April 2024. I am now seven months on waiting for the replacement window and I have been getting a story every time I call. No one ever returns my calls and when I do get through to someone, they tell me the same exact thing. No one knows anything about the window. Replacing a broken window is part of their warranty. I wish I had never gone with Universal Windows direct. Their lack of communication is off the charts. I would not ever recommend them….still waiting for my windowUniversal Windows Direct Response

We were recommended to go with UWD for 3 replacement windows. Nate ****** was our sales representative. He seemed to know the products, yet in hind sight did NOT offer us flex screens while they were available and our preferred screen type. We signed a contract in September of 2023. The crew arrived to install the windows. 6 guys showed up. The laundry room installer and the den installer left a mess all over each room. Pieces of wood and scraps all over the floor, nothing was vacuumed. I went upstairs to ask the bedroom window installer how to remove the screens (they weren’t flex screens as we know how to remove flex screens.) He said “they are a pain in the ass these regular screens.” He proceeded to try to get it out and show me and the entire screen fell down to the ground and landed on our AC unit. We spoke with Kerry W and Ben. We are STILL awaiting a flex screen for our den window. We are on our 12th service call ! (We have been asked to pay our bill in full- which we did and told our job was completed. If we didn’t pay our bill in full we wouldn’t have a service call provided. “Carol” told me this. Other than a $100 Amazon gift card after pressing this inept company for some restitution, MORE than a year later and 11 service visits, we are still awaiting a proper fitting flex screen for our den. NO ONE from UWD reaches out to us to apologize or make this right. We haven’t received a single call from management reaching out to solve this problem once and for all. We have heard their supplier is to blame? How many ways are there to measure a screen to fit one window? Jason B. was the last visit in 10-1-2024. No one has reached out since. We wait 6 weeks each time for a screen x 11 visits. Still no flex screen that fits!!Universal Windows Direct Response

Horrible, at first it sounded to good so my 92 year old grandmother paid in full for the 2 bedroom windows, later asking about the bathroom then we signed a contract thinking the bedroom windows would be finished so we could see results all while still agreeing to the bathroom today we got a call saying they are not doing any because she won't pay for the bathroom now and it's been a two month wait already she said she wanted a refund then was told she wouldn't get it and still owe them money after paying over 3100?? we were told if we decided we didn't want the bathroom window it wouldn't be a issue well it's a issue and a bad one this is elderly abus from a company and theft by deceit you think it would be made right but noooooo, in top of that a customer service woman had the nerve to tell me my tone and choice of words are unacceptable who the hell are you to think your going to tell me how to talk when you took advantage of a 92 yr old then had the nerve to laugh at her shame on you absolutely sickening the work that was paid for in full needs done or her money returned I thought this company was decent i guess notUniversal Windows Direct Response

My 81-year-old grandfather, who is not in his right mind, went with Universal Windows Direct to install siding on his home. When we realized the cost was far beyond his means, he tried to cancel the project months before any work was done. Not only did they refuse to let him cancel, but they also threatened him. He reluctantly went through with it, and the quality of their work has been nothing short of terrible. At least once a month, he has to call them because his siding has fallen off again—and it's not even due to weather, it just falls off because of poor workmanship. To make things worse, they ask him to submit email requests to fix it. He's 81—he doesn't use email! It's incredibly frustrating and shows a complete lack of care or customer service. This company has taken advantage of my grandfather, delivered shoddy work, and offers no real support. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.Universal Windows Direct Response

Second review We had windows installed, I went to clean my daughter’s windows for the first time and the window fell out. First I know exactly how to open the windows and tilt them second **** ***** the representative from windows direct told me that I broke the tilt pin in the window and the company would fix that but since the window fell and damaged my wall and floor they will patch the wall only! They don’t cover floor damage. My floor would not have been damaged if the window was not installed broken! Long story the technician came out, he was very helpful and we told him about Sara blaming us and he said first off we would never have been able to break that tilt pin that was probably done when installed or just broken to begin with! I am still fighting for compensation for my floor damage as we will have to replace the damaged piece which will have to be done by ripping up a few boards as they interlock! We want compensation's for the window being installed broken and running our floor!!!! I have all the emails Sara blamed us and her lack of help.Universal Windows Direct Response

On Tue. 6/25/24, after windows were delivered to the warehouse I asked how soon they could be installed and was told they would be installed on Fri. 6/28. I gave my credit card # and was told they would call with a time. My 88 year old husband and I began preparing the 4 rooms where windows would be installed. U (Universal Windows) called on 6/26 & said the soonest installation date was 7/1 due to U not putting my charge card through on 6/25. This was my 2nd install date. On 6/27 about 5 pm U called offering a $50 gift card if I would have installation moved up to tomorrow 6/28. I accept the gift card offer & this #3 installation date. My husband and I worked long into the evening to prepare for installation the next day. We moved furniture, removed window shades, blinds, etc. Fri. 6/28 I get a call from U saying the installer had been in an accident but another installer would do installation Sat.6/29. I accept the 4th install date and we to put window shades, beds etc. back in place. Saturday 6/29 we remove window coverings & rearrange furniture in preparation for the installation. We wait & wait and finally call to see why no one had showed up for installation. We get the answering machine telling us U aren’t working on Saturday but to leave a message and someone will get back to us. So our #4 scheduled installation did not happen. It was very difficult for us to prepare for church on Sunday due to furniture, etc. being moved and not in usual location. On Mon. 7/1 U scheduled for Tues. 7/2 & all went well with installation date #5. Universal needs to provide some kind of info (via phone call /text?) regarding when installer will or WON’T arrive. BAD COMMUNICATION w/CUSTOMER SERVICE during installation & after regarding payment amount. I have had no luck trying to get the promised $50 gift card. We hope Universal will stand behind their guaranty on the windows because we know they lack in communication and customer service.Universal Windows Direct Response
