Did not mention fee if they came back. Said that the installers don’t get paid if they don’t put it up, then said they had a fee to pay them if site wasn’t perfect. Site was grave and had settled some.

National Carports does not schedule any jobs to be installed with out a questionnaire being completed. In this questionnaire that was completed by Mr. *****, he was asked about site preparation and levelness, accessibility, and procedures followed to complete his install. He was definitely aware of fees involved in job could not be completed due to circumstances outside of National Carports control. Mr ***** site was not close to being level which would have resulted in continuous issues with his garage doors and man door working properly. He was given a choice to have installed or wait till site was properly prepared. In addition National Carports reduced his fee to help him out. And yes, our crews are paid by the job not hourly so they have the expense to load, expense to drive to site, and then return and unload uninstalled building due to no fault of their own. They could have just installed the garage on unlevel site resulting in a very unprofessional job or taken pride in their quality and workmanship. National Carports is glad they chose the latter. Mr ***** garage is now installed properly for him to enjoy for years to come with no continual issues with doors not working properly. $300 for a 3 man crew to absorb gas and labor expenses for something out of their control not being done properly is not unreasonable. They were booked on this job for 2 days and only get $100 each less gas expenses. They have families to support. Mr ***** was well aware of any fees involved before we ever scheduled his job. National Carports has operated for 27 years and is as proactive as possible to prevent such issues but when customers are not honest at time of schedule that is out of our control.

Management at this company has no respect for customer satisfaction or referrals; he is rude and unprofessional. Under no circumstances should you agree to pay an unspecified "service fee" or non-service fee. Regardless of who is at fault, you will be forced to pay a $500 fee or more, if the installers cannot do the installation. After a 4-month waiting period for our building, one would think someone from National Carports would have inspected the building site, before sending out installers and supplies. A service fee was not mentioned at the time of the contract, only at the time of delivery and, at that point, they have your deposit!

Customer was given lead time before purchase and site preparation required to install garage properly. National Carports does not schedule any jobs before questionnaire is filled out. Customer was well aware of fees if site was not properly prepared and job could not be completed due to circumstance outside of National carports control. Customer did not level site in the four months of lead time and then was dishonest throughout questionnaire hoping National Carports would some how just make it work. Customer was given the opportunity for us to just build as is or wait to prepare site properly. They chose to wait to get site done properly. The fee, which customer was aware of before scheduling, is to pay the crew something as they get paid by the job. They were scheduled 2 days on this job and have the labor and gas expense of loading , going to job, and then returning and unloading job due to no fault of their own. They could have just installed on unlevel site resulting in continual issues with doors not operating correctly and building leaning. National Carports has operated for 27 years with pride in their product and we are glad our crews take pride in their workmanship and product.
