Please beware! This place is a health and safety hazard. The reviews on their main sight are not reflective of what this place actually is. I was lied to multiple times, and move in day was pushed back over and over. Was told this would be a newly renovated apartment. It was unfinished and dirty, with multiple things that needed to be addressed on day one. In addition, the Fire Marshall had to come less than 24 hours after move in and informed me that the smoke alarms were not wired correctly in unit *** on the *** ****** The alarms went off all night on 1/23/24. The heat was broken. I moved out the day after moving in! The rent they were trying to charge for this was upwards of $1600+. The hallways smelled terrible and smokey (even though they advertise as a non smoking building). I was fortunate to be able to move back to my previous residence, however all the time, money, and effort that went into this was an absolute waste. I am still awaiting the return of my security deposit. I was informed via email that they would not be charging me a lease break penalty…that’s pretty laughable considering I was there for 24hrs and they technically put me in a unit that was not up to code. Yes, the building is old but it does not have to be this way if properly maintained. It is clear that people are being taken advantage of big time. I’m sure the people who own and work for this company do not live this way. It’s shameful and unethical to expect others to live in conditions such as this and pretend that these major issues simply don’t exist. Do not move here! Please look on other forums for some of the more realistic and honest reviews. To date, I am still owed $250 of the original $600 deposit. I have reached out via phone again on multiple occasions. I was told to leave my number and I’d be getting a call back soon. Call never returned. That was weeks ago. Additional calls made to ************ corporate. No follow ups have been made or attempts to rectify this. Emails have been sent with no reply. By law, the 30 day time period the company had to return my full deposit has lapsed. I moved out of Bexley House Apartments on January 24, 2024; over 2 months ago, now going into three months. This company is unprofessional. I am requesting the remainder of what I am owed ($250). They also refused to return my $75 security deposit.
