Top Notch Handyman agreed to build us a deck by our pool, add 2 gates and railing and wire electrical from our gargage to the pool and deck. Also add a reel in the ground to hold our solar cover. Trench the wire from garage to pool and also covers for the outlets. He brought me a design he printed from Menards and I picked out the color of deck and railing I wanted. He wanted 1/2 down to start so he picked up the check for 5895.00. The deck was to be done 2nd week of June. Yet to this day he only has started on the frame and trench an electrical wire. I have repeatedly reached out to him of when my deck would be done and he has made excuse after excuse. First he was blaming menards , then he said his son was sick, then it was he still didnt have all the materials and then he started saying he was sick. He then proceeded to tell me that he had another subcontractor that was going to come complete the deck but also started making excuses for them not showing up as well. I am not sure what truly is going on but I asked him for my materials and he has made every excuse on that as well . Please see the attached conversation with our text messages. You can read time after time he has made multiple excuses and now it is October and I still have no deck? or materials? I am very disappointed. All our plans for the whole summer were crushed with all his excuses. Our son was in a bad car accident in May and broke his neck in 4 places. I had tried to be considerate and understanding for him and his son when he has told me they were ill but I have came to the conclusion he is not planning on doing our deck. I would like to get a refund of my hard worked money for the amount of my check. If he is sick I am truly sorry but you cannot still run a business like this and not return money ? or complete the project. thanks **** ******* ************
